Bands you don't 'get'

The Ting Tings. Just watched their big weekend performance. Probably one of the most uninspiring bands ever, most songs repeat the same three or 4 words, about 20 times in a row before she changes it a little bit.

Why she insists on pretending to play the guitar is beyond me.

Reh... I've gotta say I wasn't too keen on the big weekend performance. I've only heard not my name on the radio, but it's slightly painful to listen to... Don't really know if I want to watch it now.

Ok... I swear I'm going to revise now.

I quite liked the Ting Tings when I first heard them but now I'm getting really fed up with them, especially with "That's Not My Name" (unless it's the Gabba remix ;)). They don't have very deep or meaningful lyrics either, and that's a huge minus. That's why I'm surprised why people don't get Radiohead  They are brilliant when it comes to lyrics (and music, in my opinion). I think they are up there with Bloc Party, Maximo Park and We Are Scientists but maybe that's just the style of lyrics I like. Especially when it's combined with excellent music.

Speaking of W.A.S. - many people don't get them! Not just their music, but also their humour. Personally I love their sense of humour. And I love Keith. I would.

I would as well.

I didn't really get them until quite recently, I like both their albums now though.

People my age only really know the Radiohead stuff of the Hail To The Thief era. The early stuff (Pablo Honey, The Bends) from the early-mid 90s is the place to start to fully appreciate Radiohead, then work forwards to the present day.

Meh.. Katie's alright looking. Though, the more I look at her I see she's not as pretty as I found her before. I think it's really after hearing the Big Weekend performance I'm not so keen anymore.

I used to think she was hot, but now I do agree with Chris Moyles (it was Chris who said it, wasn't it?) - you CAN'T actually see her face, ever. She seems quite good looking though, from what you can see.

Looks like ive really set this topic alight, looks like a lot of you dont get Ting Tings. Adding to it, she never shows her face. She was quite hot at the big weekend from the video when she had her hat on, but as soon as her hat comes off, her looks disappear hehe

Magic hat! :woo:

She looks good in the "TNMN" video, but, again, you can't see her face.

Do you think she has a complex?

Yeah, its like a magic hat for ugly people, could be a really marketable product (sorry my business studies hat is still on) I will end this here for fear of taking the topic... off topic:P Another band I dont get is Hadouken... not really properly listened to them but from what I've heard they arent anything special!

I don't get New Young Pony Club. I saw them at Leeds last year and really didn't think they were anything special. The lead singer has terrible dress sense, the keyboard girl looked like a robot and the music was awful. The NME love them though.
