Radio 2 in the Park 2024

Has anyone bought the Daily Mail today, then obviously binned the paper immediately (pompous, crappy right-wing wrapping paper) and listened to the free attached new Prince album?

What do you think?

Firstly of the album, and secondly about the way he chose to release it?

I'll have to wait a bit for my copy. So would like your views....

I did actually mean to buy the Mail on Sunday today for this, just to see if he was still the same (and it's an interesting move for a (formerly?) major artist to release a new album via a free giveaway)...

I just think, as with many artists, the new stuff will be awful compared to his old stuff. So im not bothering with it.

Im still getting over the fact how we didnt get one in our daily mail but my grandad did, and he promised to keep it for me then when we went to see him this afternoon and collect it, he had given it away and forgotten about me

Its wasn't too bad an album although i did just skip through it. Certainly an interesting way to promote your music but don't think it'll catch on as only prince or similar could afford to do this kind of thing. The mail an odd choice though

The fact that it's free with the Mail On Sunday is enough to tell me it's not worth listening to. It will no doubt go on old folks' free CD pile along with Rock Legends and the Dr Zhivago free DVD. Probably used to scare birds on the cabbage patches.

Hmm, Im kinda glad I didnt get it now, I saw a pic of him today and I got a tad freaked out, he looks like Gok wan.

It's fabulous. Simply fab. It's a very laid back, chilled out album. My favourite so far is My Guitar, it's very Raspberry Beretish, which is brilliant. I'll give it another listen tomorrow, but I'm really liking it so far!
