Newsbeat Package Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am looking to obtain some Newsbeat packages particularly from 2004 onwards. I only have 2003 as a full package and nothing else, which is why I thought I would start this thread where not only I can request but others can too so that they’re not left out either. And that they too  can have a helping hand on finding Newsbeat packages.

Anyway, if anyone could help, I would be thankful.

PS: I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but the Music4 website doesn’t look to be functioning probably which means that you can’t view any of their work, this has been going on for sometime now and I can’t work out why. I have tried to get in touch with someone at Music4 but have had no luck. If anyone here knows someone who works in or is associated with Music4, could they get in touch with them to see what’s going on?

Haven't got round to replying to your PM yet but I have a few things you're after, I have a fair bit of 2008, 2011 and 2015. The stuff from the early to mid naughties seems harder to track down, I've been trying for ages, but I have bits and pieces.

As for the Music4 website, I don't think anybody will be getting back to you any time soon... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5054455/Former-Radio-1-producer-guilty-child-sex-charges.html

Ha! Probably the same two I've sent you both. Dan Mumford made this one, and he's never put any demos out there, so short of getting someone who works at R1 to leak it or asking him personally, not sure how else to get it.

I have a couple of bits on top of that, such as the Headlines bed and the 1Xtra intro, but that's about it. Does seem very difficult to get hold of.

I messaged Dan once regarding the old 2015 package as I don't have any of that one, as that was quite a large jingle package for newsbeat, so many different beds that only saw the light of day once or twice. Never had a response. But in fairness, he's probably really busy producing etc!

I also imagine certain producers might be quite protective of their work - either because they don't want to give it out for free, or aren't legally allowed to in case it ends up on some internet station that don't have the rights to use them. I'm sure some are lovely and willing to indulge us, but probably not all. Also they're busy, when you're freelance time is money.
