RIP Alan ball, will be forever remembered as part of the greatest England team ever.

Think Chelsea will nick it tonight at the bridge, but if Liverpool can get an away goal i think they will nick the tie at Anfield.

I love all these quotes coming from Mourinho about the match tonight, it's almost as if he is worried...

I think he is, his record against liverpool in this competition is not good. Liverpool always pull something out of the bag in Europe, European football is second nature to the club, always has been.

Where would we be if we did'ht have rules....?

France, Thats Right.

Scholes is a legend, Rooney was saying in his interview how he does stuf like that in training every day, so he knew it was coming. Scholes is probably the new core of Man Utd's Success, but he gets overlooked because of the Superstars.....Think he likes it like that though, he has never been one to be in the spotlight. I think Carrick is showing great ability and potential as well....Fergie is creating another superteam like he had in the 90's!

what a shame, a huge part of our history. we may be crap, but we can at least hold on to the fact that we have done it once. he was still only 61 too, too young to die. awful.

mourinho is a legend, i couldn't help but laugh at the way he says things. and starts his speaches. probably the funniest manager around at the moment, i think liverpool will take their 6th european title though. they'll have to go a bit to top the final two years ago. my friend says he would be happy if they can get a draw at stamford bridge and finish it off at anfeild. and i still get the feeling that gerrard is due a massive goal in the champions leauge.

looks like owen is playing against reading as well next monday, im kind of looking forward to it but i'm not. bring him back against a team that almost killed petr cech (!)

just thinking, it's good to see who's been having the chances tonight as in terms of nationality:-

lampard (shot blocked by reina)

gerrard (headed over)

gerrard (left footed pushed away by cech)

lampard (20 yard shot pushed away by reina)

joe cole (goal)

good to see cole back as well, i thought for liverpool being away at chelsea it's a decent result. they can go back to anfeild and turn it around i think, just as long as they stop chelsea from scoring. whoever wins this semi i want to go on to win the final becuase it would be cracking to have an english team win the european cup again. hopefully liverpool though becuase they deserve it after stopping the overseas gloryhunters from getting it twice.

if i were rafa though i would pi*s off zenden, he cant pick out players well and get riise as a left sided midfeilder, finnan back at right back if he is fit for it. play agger as left back and hyypia and carra as centrebacks.

this time tommorow Leeds could be a League 1 team. That's Divison 2 for everyone who knew it in old money, or for even older money, Division 3.

We'll never ever be great as we was

So could Southend, we need Leeds and Hull to lose and us to win, to even stand a chance of staying up.....Come on Ipswich, Come on Cardiff!!!!!

Where would we be if we did'ht have rules....?

a guy i know who's been a chelsea fan for the last 30 years said the race was over long ago. he agreed that chelsea had a chance to catch up and put some pressure on scotland but he says they aren't playing well enough to do the job. a draw against a weakened newcastle team, held at home by bolton who they beat away earlier in the season. i dont think he'd be suprised about todays results at stamford bridge becuase he said they didn't play to well against liverpool, never took enough chances to score and i think as he thinks they will have a rough time at anfeild. it's roles reversed now, like the scots last year nearly caught chelsea up but they sort of messed it up towards the end, like chelsea this year. i think the descision to bring in ballack and sheva has unbalanced them compared to last season, they might be good players but they didn't take into account that they might not settle in on the first season.

    • Nikita Kanda is covering the weekend mid afternoon slot a few times over the next few weeks, as is Ore.
    • No sign of James Cusack at Big Weekend. Ore Olukoga and Nikita Kanda were there. Will they be part of the weekend line-up over summer? Even Joel Mitchell and Tinea Taylor made it.
    • I don't know about that but somebody's messed up with the dates on the lanyards this year, they're all the wrong date!
    • Is big weekend the only place to get long boi merch? It's sold out! I'd love to have got my hands on some.
    • Considering the price of some festival event for a small portions can be pricey but it isn’t too bad that could get it with chips and other roast dinner bits. I think when you are billed as a touring high profile DJ there’s always a risk of playing out familiar tracks from other artists in the mix. Especially on a line-up with Chase and Status and Rudimental who will be playing pretty much all tracks written, produced and released as their DJing names.
    • Matt & Mollie I believe (and on the radio occassional studio bits from Jack Saunders, Sam & Danni and Maia Beth).
    • Obvs - Scott 2-4 and Trevor Nelson are also in 82A
    • Who presented Party Anthems on stage?
    • Lots of adverts for Matt and Mollie around the place, alongside the rest of the weekday lineup, but no mention of Dean and/or Vicky. Although I notice those two are doing the photobooth today, as is Danny Beard…
    • Yesterday was excellent pretty much all day. You can tell a lot of work has gone into the festival and the set up was really good. The ground is fine for anyone worried, I wore old trainers and they’re still fine today.    Merchandise is available for some high prices. If you’re going for Longboi merch get it early as they sold out within the first couple of hours.    The photo booth is also good and we met Vick, Katie and Jamie for a few seconds and got a photo. If you’re doing this get there 15-20 minutes before the advertised time as they’re only 30 minute slots. It’s right next to the main stage so you can see everything going on there from the queue anyway. Most of the acts we saw were excellent. Becky Hill and Ella Henderson were brilliant live. Rudimental and Chase and Status were absolutely incredible. Nathan Dawe wasn’t great, played 3 of his own songs then dodgy remixes of Marvin Gaye, Dolly Parton etc. Went to Dimension halfway through which was must better. Saw 15-20 minutes of Eric Prydz which wasn’t really my thing but his staging was excellent.  The DJ sets in between everything were pretty good, especially Matt and Mollie and Charlie Hedges. Sam and Danni were a welcome change as they played indie anthems for a while although I think they may have just been the pre recorded anthems they usually play on weekends (still better than Nathan Dawe). Food was good, but pricey - £15 for my main meal of roast pork, stuffing, chips and Yorkshire pudding. I was surprised they were selling multipacks of Madri and bottles of wine, especially the latter as people were walking around swigging from glass bottles in the middle of the crowd then dumping them on the floor… the rubbish was a mess at the end of the night. Probably one of the best live music events I’ve ever been to, a real credit to the station.
    • While there were some technical issues (tracks temporarily cutting out, mics not working at first for radio listeners, 'studio team' sometimes jumping in at quite random intervals) Party Anthems on stage seemed to work well and I sort of wonder why they haven't done it before. I guess it depends on when gates open but if gates open around 1/2pm then no excuse not to do it- it's a DJ set which they have loads of across the weekend and acts as a warm-up so the crowd are hot for the first main act.
    • They mentioned on air that it's before Joel Corry's set.
    • When is the set for Greg and Tom? I’m having trouble getting on to Insta and Google is not helping.
