Is anyone interested in doing a special 'Your Views' thread for the Marathon Show? I dont think everyone will be listening to the whole 37+ hours, so many of us will be dipping in and out I imagine! And it would be kinda nice to compile everyones thoughts here

I hope a lot of this gets stuck up on youtube by various people like it has in the past when they've streamed the webcams. I'll be watching on red button if I'm in the house, which I imagine I probably will be.

Really hope to watch/hear the overnight stuff on the iplayer or something, I have a feeling thats when its more likely to go downhill, but in a funny way.

That's already why I mixed Mills stuff in with Moyles stuff on The Scott Mills' forum. D'uh. :rolleyes: *wonders why bothers *

Anyhow, great start this morning!! Team obviously v. excited and it came across!! Smashing they raised already £33,000.00 by 0830 hours.

snap... and just for good measure add Glee to the hitlist just to hit the TRI-tri-tri-Fecta... especially for those few Gleetards* out there,

* thankfully only a few, but these people actually seem to think the songs sung on Glee are ENTIRELY ORIGINAL... :rolleyes::doubt::doh::whack: :confused:

No problem with the majority of fans who realise they're covers, btw.

and back on topic for a brief moment, now watching on Red Button. The webcams seem quite decent quality... and unless I'm very much mistaken, he's just tipped over the 12 hour mark. Innuendo Bingo won by Dave hands down but was good.

<strike>Shame they had to ruin it with some of the crap music being played like that Black and Yellow thing and Lady Gagaaaaaaaaaargh</strike>

I've been watching the red button coverage today, and something just came to me. We know what the current longest show record is for Radio 1 and they are thinking about having a stab at the world record as well, but do we know what the current record is for continuous tv broadcast, and is the red button coverage eligible?

Generally not my kind of music at all, but I'm liking Mistajam as well. Seems like a really friendly guy and quite understanding that this isnt Chris' scene really. Also have to say that he doesnt really look like what I thought he would (Mistajam, I know what Chris and Dave look like ;))

After having had a look on the GWR site, it seems like Chris and Dave a long way off for continuous tv broadcast. Big Brother in Germany was apparently broadcast continuously for an entire year, starting 2 March 2004 and ending 1 March 2005.

      I think more likely it'll just be a temp presenter for weekends 1-4 to give Matt & Mollie time off, plus time to plan and pilot the new show.

      Yeah I don’t think they’ll be anything that drastic - maybe a week or 2 of cover on early breakfast etc, but maybe just having that weekend afternoon slot covered over the summer means they can put someone on from September who maybe isn’t available until then?

      I wouldn't be surprised if they do this around June time: 05.00 Ore Olukoga 07.00 Greg James 10.30 RMC 14.00 VKJ  That'll probably happen (for my guess) from the 17th June.       The Summer on Radio 1 thing makes me wonder whether they might be doing something similar to last year again where they have a temporary schedule over the summer before introducing changes in September - maybe the new host won’t start until after the summer?

      There was talk on my Big Weekend group from the council about them waiting for Ticketmaster to send an email out. They said they've been waiting a week. Maybe they're waiting for train strike confirmation first.

      It’s on Saturday and Friday that week too. I guess this would make sense, as it gives them roughly 6 weeks off weekends until they start the new show?

      Yeah he's on more than usual including this Sunday and then 3 more shows in May according to the above. Makes me think it's James for the weekend shows also

      They seem to be using James more for cover now makes me think it will be him getting weekends eitjer breakfast or 1 till 4

      Yep am very much Capital Breakfast now. Jordan, Chris and Sian are a great trio and it's got that feel of the old shows Jordan and Chris used to do on Radio 1. It doesn't take itself too seriously but is packed full of content and slick. With Greg he's great but 6 years in you've probably heard it all before plus frankly I can sit through the Capital Playlist a lot more easily than the Radio 1 playlist (where some of the inclusions and omissions can be quite baffling at times). Plus after things like the Oscars or Met Gala or if there's a particularly big TV show or film or popstar then Greg won't half wang on about it at times. I guess it's partly to be expected with it being a Breakfast show on a young station but it can feel very London bubble and get tired.
