yeah, it has to be in the context of the song though & not there just for the sake of it, however some of them 'so called' gangster rap peeps do it just for the sake of it & to make them look/sound hard & cool  makes'em sound like a tit.

rude word alert !

I remember watching 50 Cent performing live at a music award ceremony thing. It was recorded live but shown the day after I think, and they were dipping the sound to cover all the swearing. There was practically no song left after. Just a series of long continuous stretches of mute :D

Remember that song by a guy called Eamonn with loads of swearing in it? 'F U Right Back'I think it was called. Was that an example of swearing for the sake of it or would that be considered a genuine expression of his feelings at that point in time?

what you mean this ?

The version without the girl.

It's not just rappers that swear, although they are the majority.

Plus, it's like, you don't even realise how much swearing there is in a song, until you hear the radio edit.

So true Annalie!

At least to appease those who can't handle a bit of swearing many songs on download sites like iTunes do clean versions too. So at least the options there for everyone.

Eminem's not that bad. He swears in humour or to emphasise a serious point. His childhood was tainted by his awful family life, living in poverty and exposure to the rough streets in Detroit so his lyrics are 'real' to that extent. And that's what he raps about, most of the time anyway.

I heard, he wrote this song for his ex-girlfriend, because they had broken up. If I remember correctly, she then wrote a song as an answer, in exactly the same style with a lot of swearing in it, but don't remember its title.

"I like Franziska. Sounds mad as a box of frogs, but we like her." (Dev)

I just listened to the English version of Alors On Danse, the one by Vanguzo or whatever his name is. I think it has about three lines, each consisting of swearing.

Does anyone know if that is what the lyrics actually mean?
