We get it you don't like Greg James, move on.

If you look at his profile and view his posts they are all the same but this one from April 16 made me laugh as RAJAR proved them wrong :hahaha:

Oh and Chris...WELL SAID!

Just wait 'til the listening figures are known for GJs slot. I’m sure I’m not the only one switching stations to avoid R1s worst ever presenter.

GJ is simply the dullest person I’ve ever had the misfortune to listen to. This, and constantly badgering NewsBeat presenters, because he’s run out of dull meaningless nonsense to bore us with.

His R1 career end, can’t come soon enough. <!-- / message -->

If you think that Greg is bad, you need to listen to that Matt guy. He has the right 'voice' for radio, however some of the features can be awful. For example: this morning he did a feature called Keypad Karaoke.

Please say that was before 5.30 and after 6

To be fair, Greg Jame's "The Cube" and whatever the feature where he talks about a boring object, are utter ****. :]

I admit I've not heard Matt Edmonson on Early Breakfast but on the Lie In I've enjoyed him. Back to the Greg James issue there seems to be an emerging culture on here recently of if you don't like a DJ slag him / her off at every possible oppourtunity even if the thread is nothing to with said DJ. Sure the odd mention here and there but sometimes it does get boring.

As for my opinion on Greg

I have to say I'm loving Greg James' show at the minute. Some well done's all round. Well done to Radio 1 for spotting such an obvious talent, and well done for moving Greg in to this slot and replacing the previous occupant. For me, which the owner of the 10 - 1 slot has still not found her feet, Greg is doing a great show.

At first I was a bit worried he'd lost his early breakfast humour and spark. But he's gradually settled in to the slot and played it perfectly, starting out playing it cool so to not put anyone off, and gradually bringing in the Greg James humour we grew to love on Early Breakfast. He had me in stitches today with his shouting in the office. Great sense for music, great communicating to the listeners, great features, and at times a very funny show. Greg has injected a new lease of life in to Radio 1 daytimes, a lease of life it desperately needed. Greg James isn't a star of the future, he's a star of now.

I can see both sides here, its a bit harsh to say move on just cos you dont like the topic of a thread, but then again to go to the trouble of making a thread just to have a dig is a bit much as well.

As far as GJ goes I'm in the like him camp, Matt Edmondson on the other hand I cant stand. His features are exceptionally ropey and I find his banter rubbish.

Theres always gonna be 2 differnt view points on every presenter on any station, for example the guy I work with in the mornings constantly moans about Chris Moyles and his show but I think he's a damn good presenter and really like him. Equally I know theres people who prefer to listen to my local station's, Forth One, breakfast show, but I think the presenters on there should be banned from radio for eternity.

Nobody is ever gonna be loved by all, its just about trying to find presenters people can agree on rahter than focussing on who they dont agree about

Not impressed with censorship

Who called the post police... seriously.

We get it, you like telling people to shut up about not liking someone, move on.

In fairness to Chris I dont think it was just down to difference of opinions about Greg it was more that the poster has posted numerous times basically saying the same thing

and making a point about something by doing the same thing he's complained about... (it's not the first time, even the wording was the same, just name was different).

    • Maia Beth is in for Mollie on Future Pop on Wednesday 12th June.
    • Maybe that will be Arielle then and go up against Cap Dances 11am mix
    • I think being the radio geek Greg is he will want to beat Moyles record
    • It must be really weird for the likes of Vick and RMC to see Scott in 82A it must be like he never left for them
    • It's amazing how stable that slot has been over the past 20 years - 3 presenters only. By comparison, the previous 20 years seen 8 or 10 presenters depending how you measure it.  (Whether you treat Kevin and Zoe as separate to Zoe and whether you count Mark Goodier's 4 months on Breakfast as more than just cover).
    • On July 8th Greg will surpass Grimmy's tenure on Radio 1 breakfast (5 years, 319 days) as the second-longest breakfast show presenter. He has already passed Tony Blackburn and Sim Mayo. I'm not sure if he will make Moyles' record of 8 years, 253 days, but he certainly still seems fresh and full of ideas!
    • I guess we'll have to wait and see when the new schedule kicks in, although I could see Scott staying where he is.  Assuming that's the case and there are no other moves, there would be several available studios for Matt & Mollie - 82C or 82E of the 'old' studios, and 82M or 82N of the new ones.
    • The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/documents/comm_brief_r1_dance_morning_show.pdf
    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
