Yep he was irritating, just listened back to it. The one thing he did that makes me wanna hammer him into the ground is referring to his car as a K A, its a Ka (c-aaah). Moronic idiots like that really really make me wanna hit them argh!!!

Not impressed with censorship

Hello,

I saw the thread, so I thought I ought to defend myself. I'm sorry you all think I was irritating, but the truth is that the occasion overwhelmed me! I like the show a bit too much, and was really nervous. If you think I'm annoying, then fair enough- I'm not gonna win everyone over. Just remember that I'm only 19, so I'm not as experienced in life as other people. I am going to get excited when I speak to famous people (especially someone like Chris, who is a big influence in my life) , and I am going to find a lot of things funny. On Monday I just panicked a bit too much because I was on Radio 1 for the first time, and I'm lucky Chris let me have another go today.

And my mum always used to call the car a K A, so its only because of her that pronounce it that way.

Ahh! Adam you are clearly a very nice bloke and you came across much better today, fair play to you for coming on here and sticking up for yourself. I apologise for calling you a prat when all you were doing was having fun on the radio, that wasn't nice, I take that back entirely. Good luck on the show tomorrow, enjoy it as you're the envy of many on here including me!

And as for the KA debate, I drive a Ford KA and have worked for Ford Motor Company on and off for the last few years. All Ford staff refer to the cars as K.A's, not Cahh's so you're entirely right.

Nah, it's ok mate- I really didn't mean to act like such an arse on Monday!

Thanks for wishing me luck too- I'll do my very best to win, although if I don't, then that's ok too because it's been a dream of mine for many years to get the chance to speak to the team, and I'm grateful for that opportunity! =)

A dream of mine to, I think like you I love the show that bit too much and would love the oppurtunity to speak to them. I think Chris and the team are really warming to you though based on today, so enjoy it!

Say no more! Seriously, good luck tomorrow! Sooner have someone like you on than a mono-tonal boring idiot.

Oh god totally agreed. I'd rather have a caller who sounds like he's had too many blue Smarties like Adam on a show I was presenting rather than someone who's just a bit dull like the other chap!

Why is this never on the podcasts? Why doesn't Moyles do a daily podcast like Scott?

Because he does a weekly 1 and CPC only sometimes appears on it if there was a really dumb player or it was very funny. He may appear on it if they choose to

Yeah! I guess I didn't do too badly- I didn't get a single question wrong! ;)

Aww, I hope you're right, Stig! It'd be great to think they might like me!

And as a fan of the Moyles show, I too wouldn't mind a daily podcast... but it might get hard to keep up with downloading and listening to all of them after a while! =)

    • The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/documents/comm_brief_r1_dance_morning_show.pdf
    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
