I just want to add though that I am beginning to enjoy the show a bit more now that it’s settled in - I think Jamie (when he’s there) has calmed down a bit and then the new features that have been progressively added over the last couple of weeks have been good too. I still don’t think it’s a patch on Vick and Jordan together, but it is now a show that seems like it could have legs into the future and once Matt and Mollie start in July, I could see myself sticking with R1 all afternoon.

I think it’s a slimmer line-up and seems to fall short in previous years where it seemed almost double that I know Raye is booked to perform and is a headline name. I think the issue with a station like capital they are dealing with a rather lacklustre year for pop and theres no real big pulls for pop festivals that are an easy sell out right now. I think Capital has had seen it’s Capital Ball’s as for any generic pop music listener I don’t know whether Bradley Simpson, Aitch and Paul Russel have the universality to play in a stadium even Sugababes think it would be better if they chosen a smaller outdoor location or Wembley arena.

He's in bed sick today so not sure it will happen this weekend.

Don't think it's the most amazing line-up. They seemed to really be pushing people to buy tickets on release day.

So from the podcast it’s Vick and Jamie on Monday, all 3 of them on Tuesday and Wednesday, Vick and Katie on Thursday and then Katie is on holiday the week after so it’s just Vick and Jamie. I wonder how long it will be before we actually get a full week of their show?

I really do miss scott on r1. For me it was the entertainment that always came from the show, you knew no matter when you listened it was going to be entertaining and make the day go faster. A brilliant presenter.

How can that be possible, when Katie said on the first episode of the new podcast that she got the call afterwards and was surprised because she'd heard about Jamie being announced and thought that was it?

Katie got offered job before Jamie. They wanted to announce Katie last in case of backlash over Jamie getting it. I met Katie recently and she told me this

Sorry! I don't really check here often - but yes i agree! I think Radio 1 back then was perfect and was amazing. I really am tempted to start a new channel filled with random BBC Radio 1/Radio 2 shows I have archived from 2007-2018! Full shows, one place 🤤 what a dream! Maybe it was just late-00's and early-10's culture then that made it even better, but I swear the music they played back then too were WAY nicer and more varied! I'm curious - in what context did Vick and Katie mention Jordan? Was it r.e. Arielle's wedding?

Since Easter at the beginning of April, Vick, Katie and Jamie have been on together just 4 times. Which is crazy for a brand new, high profile Radio 1 show. Imagine Jordan being off that regularly on Capital because of ‘other commitments’ - would never happen. Jamie has only presented 6 times in the past month. Katie has presented every single show. Given how she got the job at the last minute I think very likely she would have had other commitments, which she will have cancelled/rearranged, cos being Radio 1 drive time host is a massive gig. Vick, Katie and Jamie - 4 times; Vick and Katie - 10 times; Katie and Jamie - 2 times; Katie and Lauren - 2 times.

I see Katie (and Mairead) were out with Jordan tonight. I don’t listen to the show any longer, I am shocked they are allowed to mention Jordan.

At least I do not ask stupid questions…😂
