Unlike last time so far there is no video best bits & no mention at all of Chris being in video on his page or the homepage

Well, there's a big image and link during the show to the console. It's not so much important having lots of stuff about it when the console isn't live.

Yes but last time as I said they were advertising some highlight clips and he fact that the show is in video every morning

EDIT: when is Zane going to be in video??

I was put off by listening to the Moyles show today. I don't particularly want to listen again to something I can't see.

Personally, I'd like for Zane's show, for the Now Playing module to be on the right, with Studio Cam on the time. For one, background stuff is mildly interesting, but also to see him mixing (nice decks angle!) and playing clips etc. Though it's nice to see some more interesting camera angles.

Also, as Zane plays a bit of a record, then starts talking again, then plays more, it feels weird it either being on Now Playing when you hear him or constantly cutting back and forth between them.

Oh, and on the Now Playing thing, it'd be interesting to see if the system could also load up a relevant image/link for promos such as for Moyles or the endless Switch ones.

The problem with the Show Info thing is that it's not something that we particularly need to see all the time: maybe that could be more of a ticker module, like the BBC News/Weather can be loaded up as (something that was seen in the 5live usage, or if people played with the debug console when it was up).

Ooh dear, speed changing and audio drops. Well, 6 weeks to fix all of this. Getting the A/V sync must be tricky enough though.

why the problems this time round though

I watched about ten minutes of Moyles this morning and became bored extremely quickly. It was really off-putting and added nothing.

Moreover, the bit I watched was the team talking about Matt Fincham singing to himself in the office, which had Aled doing hand movements and the team picking up on it. I listened back to the show on the iPlayer and that bit SOUNDED so much better than it actually looked. And either Dom is no good with cameras, or he's just generally the most awkward person I may have ever seen.

I'm not going to be getting up to watch this again. Shock horror, the Chris Moyles RADIO show is a lot better when you LISTEN to it, so I'm just going to completely ignore the visual element and stick to using the Listen Again feature.

I just think it'll be more appreciated during the day. It certainly takes something away from Moyles' show. I think it might add to Mills' a bit because he does a lot of video stuff. But I'm not that keen on it.

Stutter, stutter, stutter....I'm not complaining though, we wouldn't have this otherwise and its only 2 days into 6 weeks!

I cannot watch it at all for some reason. The screen with the R1 Logo, and the texts on the side all loads up, and when a song is played the name comes up but I am getting only a blank screen for the studio

Are the BBC restricting this to the UK only unlike the previous times?

    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
    • I’m pleased for Mylo and Rosie, they were highly thought of in our local area and definitely worthy of that slot
    • I’m thinking the same redding and Leeds etc
    • -Considering how little Jamie has appeared since Vick went off on maternity, it probably would've been more sensible to have Sam & Danni taking over from that point and have him return with Katie. - Mylo and Rosie are apparently very good and one of the more popular local presenters who lost their slot when Hits went fully national. I gather they are very popular in Yorkshire. I can see them definitely see them popping up again beyond this stint. -Life Hacks cover is yet another good opportunity for some new voices (I know Yinka has popped up in the past). I have enjoyed Pete Allison covering though. I'm assuming most of August's Friday to Sunday 1-4pm will be made up of festival coverage.
    • - Jamie Laing will take a break from Going Home from 28th July. Sam and Danni will cover. - Greg James will host his show until 11am from 21st July (Monday to Thursday only). - Mylo and Rosie, who previously hosted Hits Radio Breakfast in West Yorkshire, will host Friday EB in July. - Charley Marlowe of TikTok fame will host Friday EB in August. - Tskenya Frazer will host Life Hacks with Lauren Layfield in July, whilst Yinka Bikinni will host with Lauren in August. - Jamie Laing and Katie Thistleton will return to Going Home in September.
    • @eddemundo Thank you 👏🏼 👏🏼 That took some listening on Sounds to get that
