so i guess this is auvior for 10 days...yep yep tommorow im off to la france at 4am in the morning :shock: everyones really excited but nervous cos we dont know if we will get on with our host families(ive been told they will love me..but im not convinced)

My suitcase is way over the weight limit(surprise surprise)

anyways im sure it will be quiet without me for the next 10 days..and have a good valentines day.

ooh im like a kid who's waiting for father christmas to arrive,kinda excited but nervous..i found out what show that one click guy was off..just listenend to an hours show..great fun.

A very busy week for me this week. Went to see Stomp in London the night before last was intresting. Went out and got drunk lat night which was a bad idea and i had my pratical driving test today which i failed on my turn in the road :( never mind supose i wiljust have to take it again!

I have a face for Radio!

Went in to college, sat around (blah blah blah). It was mufti day today for the school so it was all confusing as all the kids were dressed differently. Some moody bus driver told me off for having a takeaway cup of tea. History was straight forward. And am now home.

Waste of time going college today. Form was cancelled and English we were just doing research, so a bit of a pointless day.

Going out tonight with ze lads for some late night debautchery.

am i still alive? i think so, if i wasn't i wouldnt be able to type....

well went into college this morning as per usual and went into a year 11 class with a couple of my friends to tell them why languages at AS-level are so great. slightly embarrassing, but hey.

then spent two hours doing absolutely nothing, although some gossip about valentines day cards, the most unexpected person sent a card. no cards in my pigeon hole today though, surprise surprise :-)

after that, double french. was ok, now school is over for a week! (yay!) walked home quickish and had something to eat before half walking, half jogging to my mates house to go for a run. i have entered the race for life thing which is in may and i needed to attempt to train so that i wouldnt faint after running a few metres. so i went running. (well jogging). the last time i ran properly was for 5 mins in summer when this same mate was chasing me with blue suncream.

needless to say i was shattered and made him stop a few times! got home and could hardly walk let alone run. now am ok, am still coughing but i am breathing normally again! legs ache slightly, something which i happily forgot about when i madly volunteered to go running with him. working at 8 am tomorrow will be torture, i will be in so much pain!!

he said i was better than he thought i was going to be and that i kept going longer lol. which i suppose is good :biggrin: not bad for someone who used to think exercise was getting up and turning tv channels over ;-) (well not that bad!) anyway, that was my day. hair cuts in a bit and then im doing no school work what so ever. will be too busy stopping myself from eating the remainder of my xmas chocolate... ;-)

That's not true, you got one! I check your pigeon hole before I went to psychology and you had one so I picked it up for you because you went home! Someone loves you.... And it's not Jono, I checked.

A bit of a strange day at college, quite relaxed for once, i think there was a huge buzz around college as one of the students was having a photoshoot as she was in the recent Harry Potter films. Oh, and one of my lessons was cancelled, so it was free period a go go! ;)

and it's only bley Friday and i'm going out!

      I expect that the axing of Chill Out Anthems may be related to the decommissioning and shutfdown of Radio 1 Relax. I assume soon BBC could announce or make official when it’s going to be shutdown

      The next RAJAR will be putting a lot of pressure on Aled. Will his decisions over Danny Beard and Jamie Laing and to lose Jordan North pay off? If not, it is likely bosses will be looking for his successor.  I am interested to know what fans of the station think?  Ian Chaloner who worked for Greg, Scott and Grimny before rising through the ranks must stand a chance. He is now mainstream editor.  An outsider choice but Greg's former producer Chris Sawyer would be great. He has the creativity and has held the ship well on breakfast. Although I know he is no longer with them.

      Greg is doing Breakfast from 7am-11am on 23rd May which is a thirty minute extension of his usual Friday show and consistent with Big Weekend timings. Also it looks like from the 1st June, Radio 1 Chillout Anthems at 4am is being replaced by Radio 1 Anthems with Maia Beth and will also air at the same time on a Sunday.

      I mean I've been growing our engagement on Facebook in my department, there's still an untapped audience there. Also, as you alude to, the number of community groups has grown a lot since lockdown. I'd love to hear more about their thinking. If this had been Radio 1's strategy I don't think anyone would have disagreed.

      I think they must’ve been slowly killing of their social media presence I know for Radio 2 and 6 they do have dedicated unofficial social media groups so there is an audience. All Request Friday and features like that has a place on social media as can get requests via comment sections but I think Facebook struggles to know what it is these days.

      I just think it's more about what they're doing. If all you've got is a DJ dancing to Beyonce's latest hit for thirty seconds or Sara Cox reading out the All Request Friday number in a funny way it's not really what Facebook prioritises. I think it's great that studio interaction, but it does lend itself to Instagram and TikTok more. But I honestly believe there is a place for Facebook with the Radio 2 audience. The trouble is Radio 2 have barely used Facebook for the last year so there doesn't seem to have been a strategy there.

      Agree, all I'd see on x was medical professionals from other health trusts having a very carefully worded pop at each other, mixed in with a clip of jeremy vine with a camera on his helmet, a very strange place indeed! I imagine they have some data to back it up, but is the r2 audience really using tiktok?

      I get not putting resources into X which these days is a strange mix of angry political debate and adult content only. But you'd think Facebook was still the most popular social channel amongst Radio 2 audiences.

      Radio 2 seem to have decided that their strategy is just short video, so it does probably make sense with Instagram and TikTok. But I find it hard to believe there's not longer form content that wouldn't suit Facebook better.

      Think it may have been better to include Radio 1 in this and 1 xtra ultimately focus on boosting a BBC Sounds social media to bring the multi-generational content marketed to a broader audience through one singular channel and having a separate social brand skewed to younger audiences maybe they should consider just having a @BBC @BBCSounds  @BBCSport @BBCNews @BBCFresh (youth brand) social media acounts national.
