Ok so I had a thought ... the radio 1 podcasts

First of all: Scott’s new podcast cover’s werid.

TWO: What Radio 1 podcasts/shows do u guys actually listen to aside from Scott Mills Daily and The Greg James Podcast (That are funny)

-I only listen to Scott and Greg

THREE: Listening to radio x’s podcasts/shows (Johnny... Chris...) Am i the only who thinks Scott would sound better on radio x? Even if he just does a podcast for global. He and Greg stand out so much from the other radio 1 presenters. I love his radio show to bits. BUT he’s been at the BBC for 20 years! I see in the next 2 years I think Scott should move to X. He’d fit in so well there I think.

Anyway what do u guys think.

I’m really into MDWAP podcast (but isn’t everyone lol) and Jordan’s podcast, Help I Sexted My Boss. Both podcasts allow Alice and Jordan to show off their humour more, and allow them to swear which is always weird to hear :D

I don’t know if Scott would work on X, to be honest. Maybe his personality could fit in perfectly and could give him a bit more flexibility, but Radio 1 still gets more listners than X so it would seem quite a step down from R1, and we all know Scott’s a pop queen, I don’t think Radio X is really his style

I could see Greg going to X maybe later in his career, just not while he’s got probably the biggest job in radio at the moment lol. Maybe Phil Taggart would join X too if they offered him a good time slot.

Scott would NOT work on X. His humour isn't laddy enough, and the music really isn't his thing at all. Can't see it ever happening. He's said in the past he'd never go back to commercial radio, and when you could have a job for life at the BBC if you're patient enough, I don't know why you'd want to.

I just cannot imagine him on radio X or BBC Radio 2 his humor is just a bit to rude for that station i think,if he did move to radio X or 2 he would have to bring Chris or have a different co-host i can't see him doing it by himself. But i mean he won't be at radio 1 forever and i do think he is slowly making his way to radio 2.

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
