Lily Allen loses her baby

The star, who was six months pregnant, was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning after complaining of stomach pains.

However, efforts to save the unborn child failed over the weekend.

A spokesperson for the pop star said: "It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby.

"The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made".

Lily has been dating Cooper, who runs a decorating company, since last July and recently referred to him as "the love of my life".

The miscarriage comes two years after the singer suffered a similar tragedy with then boyfriend Ed Simmons.

Such a shame that this has happened again to her, it must be heartbreaking for both her and her boyfriend.

So save the last dance

For me my love 'cause I

I see you as an angel freshly fallen from the sky...

This is so sad. I love Lily Allen, she (and Dan Black..) is my favourite singer ever. :'(

My RP teacher was telling us (as per) the facts of life earlier. Today we were talking about IVF and he told us that out of our class, 6 of us would be infertile. He pointed at me and my 5 friends.

We watched a film about Anthea Turner too.

I hope Lily Allen is able to get pregnant, but she is so young. :(

OMASM. Radio presenters are like fruit. Matt is my kumquat and Scott is blatantly my orange.

he pointed at you & your friends, thats a bit harsh !

when i was at secondary school there was a girl who knew she couldn't have children, some of the other girls used to pick on her :( some boys did to, but the girls were much worse :(

hope Lily can pull through, it's a bit :| that it's happened again though & she must be thinking the same thing (maybe)

hopefully this time the boyfriend won't leave here like the last one did.

:)

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
