OJ said at the end of his Breakfast cover on Monday that he's next covering Breakfast in August.

It is strange though that he's only doing one day and Matt & Jerry are doing the other three.

Tbf, it's quite common for the early breakfast presenter to cover the main breakfast show on bank holidays. Arielle did it several times, as has Dean since he took over. I'm assuming Matt & Jerry/Mollie are the main breakfast cover still.

Have to say am really enjoying Emil on the show on the occasions he gets to cover. He & Vick seem to have that Vick & Jordan spark which is impressive given they've only done a handful of shows together.
Between Going Home or covering Matt Edmondson you end up hearing Emil at some point most weeks at the moment.

Here's an interesting one... Sara Cox is in for Scott covering breakfast on Monday 10th March. She was previously the main stand in for Chris Evans on the breakfast show prior to her taking over drivetime.
In turn, OJ Borg is in for Sara on drive.. and Phil Williams is on overnight for OJ.

I think all the above posts have summed up overall how I feel. I can't believe it's been nearly a year since Jordan left. I've got to be honest, I feel myself turning over to Radio 2 and sticking with it a lot more often. Greg and Matt are definitely the strongest presenters on the station. I'm not as fully sold on the Matt & Jerry pairing as much as I am Matt & Mollie, that said it's still enjoyable, especially when you compare with what we had on afternoons until last summer. Moving Matt and Mollie to weekdays is the best decision Aled has made in my opinion.
Greg has definitely stepped things up a gear again, especially since his new producer came in and since Jordan started at Capital. Nothing will ever beat the Chris Smith pairing, but Greg and Calum are a great double act, the on air interaction with the production team is great as well. I hope he has a few more years on the show at the least as there is no one obvious to replace him in my opinion.

It won't be the first week of new shows. Pretty sure I read that Trevor Nelson has specifically said now about starting 'late Jan' which ties in with several comments about w/c 27 Jan being the launch week. After panto, Scott will need a break and prep time, in order to then have a decent run of the new show before any breaks.

Christmas week is slowly starting to update. Ellie Brennan is listed on overnight, Gaby Roslin on breakfast, Gary Davies on mid morning and Spoony on mid afternoon. 
 

Spoony in for Scott tomorrow. He's covering 'at least' two weeks from Monday 9th November. 

I missed the days where it was 'normal' personality led shows (even if it was different music, but it was without the pre mixed 'blocks') and the 'B' team such as Adele Roberts Matt Edmondson, Dev etc. stepped up (with Scott & Chris on Breakfast). 

I think celeb do carry a slightly higher degree of risk and if a celeb isn't willing to put in the time, effort and learn the ropes they will get found out.
Mollie King and Maya Jama are perfect comparisons Mollie joined and it's clear she very much treated the radio role as a full-time career and put the time in to learn and improve - it's mentioned she shadowed the likes of Greg, Scott and Annie Mac among others and learnt how to drive the desk etc. And now she's as strong a DJ as anybody on Radio 1.
Whereas Maya was paired with Scott on Fridays to begin (so given almost the perfect opportunity to develop) but was quickly found out.  You rarely heard her outside her own slot and her show was pretty thin gruel which was highlighted even more so by Jordan doing the same slot on Sunday 100x better.

James has been the strongest by far. It'll be a shame if he's overlooked. Emil has been a decent listen these past few weeks too. They're the two that have stood out for me.
I do think the best idea would be to move Sam & Danni to Friday-Sunday afternoon with a new solo presenter on weekend breakfast. 
I wonder what the deal was with that Jack Remington, who popped up during the summer detention thing? Wasn't it mentioned that they referred to a new presenter then he walked in?

Is that the main station itself? I know Global often like to spin it by mentioning the Heart and Capital 'brand' beating R1, but they lump in all the spin off stations into that figure.
 

Superb for Matt & Mollie, it’s richly deserved as the show is so good.
I honestly think they’re in for a Scott & Chris style long stint on the afternoon slot.
They also appear in the Top 10 Programmes for Under 35’s on BBC Sounds latest data too. M&M are 9th, Going Home is 5th, Greg is 4th with 10s & 00s taking the top 2 spots.
Help I Sexted My Boss has also made it into the Top 10 U35 podcasts on BBC Sounds for the first time!

I agree. Would love him to get the next available daytime slot although he's built up a loyal following on overnights. I only used to hear him generally when covering, but I've been listening when up late in recent times (usually when struggling to sleep). Phil Williams is also great on overnights.

Mark Goodier is in for Vernon Kay next Monday (16th September). It will be the first time he's covered a show since returning to Radio 2. 

Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get more than a weekend afternoon host announced in the next schedule changes and they are potentially waiting for everything to fall into place to then make a big announcement and launch a new schedule in November or January for example. 
 
Because not only will the weekend slot need filling, there is the new R1 spin off station being launched ‘this autumn’, which I can see the likes of Ore, Nat, James etc being part of and I wonder if any of those shows will be simulcasted on the main station. There is then Mollie’s maternity leave which I can see them wanting to cover, and then there’s questions about whether they do something with the Power Down Playlist now that there’s no R1 Relax anymore, could they put something different in that slot? 
So I think management might be waiting to be able to sort a few things out at the same time. 

It was the same the other month when he sat in on a Saturday for Rylan, he had Sally Traffic and Lottie to bounce off. He is a brilliant solo presenter, and I actually do like his afternoon show, it's just missing 'something' that the R1 show had.  
But I think that is in part down to the slick music heavy format and the type of show management are asking him to do. Great to hear Scott on breakfast though. He now joins the list of people that have hosted both the Radio 1 and Radio 2 breakfast show.
On another note, hopefully everything is okay with Zoe Ball, she's only recently returned from holiday and was suddenly off on Friday.
