Ellie has also been extended to 4am. I guess they couldn’t find last minute cover so they’ve tried to minimise the amount of time over to repeats 

Zoe's leaving her Saturday afternoon show already after taking over the 1-3pm slot in May. Emma Willis joins Radio 2 on a permanent basis to replace her. 
Zoe's last show is next Saturday and she will continue to host music specials across the year for R2 and Sounds.

Oh.. i agree definitely a massive opportunity. I suppose in terms of Radio 1, there's potentially an opportunity to join the Friday early breakfast rotation next year if any of them impress the bosses. 

I suppose they want the regularity and familiarity of Sara and only want to concede if they have to. That said if Mark's doing two weeks he might as well do a third while he's at it surely...

Rylan mentioned yesterday that next week is his last show of the year before he does panto. 
Breakfast starts at 7am on NYD, due to the first few editions of Tony Blackburn's Sounds Of Soul series going out between 4 and 7am. There's also a Sounds Of Soul between 12 and 2pm on Friday 2nd January.
NYD afternoon is Pick Of The Pops between 12 and 3pm, 'Your Ultimate Stevie Wonder Song' with Trevor Nelson between 3 and 5pm, then 'The Wonder Of Stevie' with DJ Spoony between 5 and 6pm.

This makes complete sense and I’m glad they’re doing it.

Since the original press release says it's across the 3 stations (Radio 1, Radio 1 Anthems, Radio 1 Dance) I'm guessing there will be some specialist shows on Radio 1 taken by the 'Up and Coming' presenters, then some daytime stuff on Radio 1 Anthems since the schedule from 26 Dec - 31 Dec is the yearly based anthems scheduling with no named mentioned yet. Since Radio 1 Anthems is on DAB it makes sense to put the constant anthems programming on there instead of on Radio 1, so anyone wanting to listen to the new presenters can. Plus anyone wanting to hear a relatively consistent schedule can tune into Radio 1.

Scott & Vernon are both showing right up to Christmas Eve, but then so is Owain and the press release said Steffan Powell will be on early breakfast on Christmas Eve/Boxing Day. I'd assume Gary Davies is in for Vernon for a few weeks from Boxing Day at least.
OJ is listed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day overnights still which i can't see being the case. He usually covers for Sara Cox over the Christmas period, but obviously that's Spoony's job this time around
 
 

He did cover Sara's drivetime show one day not long before he landed his Sunday show, although that was a bank holiday. 
It's not listed on the schedule, but Melvin Odoom is double shifting on Radio 1 and Radio 2 this week as well while Spoony sits in for Trevor.

It was, Scott mentioned it a couple of times this morning before it even got put up on the schedule, Vernon's off sick.

OJ said at the end of his Breakfast cover on Monday that he's next covering Breakfast in August.

It is strange though that he's only doing one day and Matt & Jerry are doing the other three.

Goodier show sounds good

Tbf, it's quite common for the early breakfast presenter to cover the main breakfast show on bank holidays. Arielle did it several times, as has Dean since he took over. I'm assuming Matt & Jerry/Mollie are the main breakfast cover still.

Have to say am really enjoying Emil on the show on the occasions he gets to cover. He & Vick seem to have that Vick & Jordan spark which is impressive given they've only done a handful of shows together.
Between Going Home or covering Matt Edmondson you end up hearing Emil at some point most weeks at the moment.

Here's an interesting one... Sara Cox is in for Scott covering breakfast on Monday 10th March. She was previously the main stand in for Chris Evans on the breakfast show prior to her taking over drivetime.
In turn, OJ Borg is in for Sara on drive.. and Phil Williams is on overnight for OJ.

I think all the above posts have summed up overall how I feel. I can't believe it's been nearly a year since Jordan left. I've got to be honest, I feel myself turning over to Radio 2 and sticking with it a lot more often. Greg and Matt are definitely the strongest presenters on the station. I'm not as fully sold on the Matt & Jerry pairing as much as I am Matt & Mollie, that said it's still enjoyable, especially when you compare with what we had on afternoons until last summer. Moving Matt and Mollie to weekdays is the best decision Aled has made in my opinion.
Greg has definitely stepped things up a gear again, especially since his new producer came in and since Jordan started at Capital. Nothing will ever beat the Chris Smith pairing, but Greg and Calum are a great double act, the on air interaction with the production team is great as well. I hope he has a few more years on the show at the least as there is no one obvious to replace him in my opinion.

It won't be the first week of new shows. Pretty sure I read that Trevor Nelson has specifically said now about starting 'late Jan' which ties in with several comments about w/c 27 Jan being the launch week. After panto, Scott will need a break and prep time, in order to then have a decent run of the new show before any breaks.

Christmas week is slowly starting to update. Ellie Brennan is listed on overnight, Gaby Roslin on breakfast, Gary Davies on mid morning and Spoony on mid afternoon. 
 

Spoony in for Scott tomorrow. He's covering 'at least' two weeks from Monday 9th November.
