I personally still think it was the way it was said rather than what was said.  To show up drunk is unprofessional, and to interrupt and disrespect a colleague while they are trying to present a show is rude.
Scott used to champion some awfully questionable pop songs, just for the fun of it. Rebecca Black - Friday being one example. It was a terrible song, but it was a laugh.   Chris would also often throw subtle shade at Scott's bangers choices, so negative opinions on songs are definitely allowed, but I think Arielle's tone was out of order and brought down the mood of what Charlie was trying to make an uplifting dance show and a cheesey fun song that she wanted to play.
Even Zane Lowe respected Scott's love for cheesey pop so much that he had a hand in the whole playing out the entire Britney album stunt, I'm sure that music wasn't to Zane's taste, but then nobody was asking him to play it on his show.

I think the station would have right to give a cautionary warning. Don’t think she deserved to be taken off air for a week if and likely is a managerial decision seems bit OTT.
If I was Charlie I would’ve immediately gone to fade both mics off and switch to having a couple of tracks until the atmosphere is sorted and hope to be able to speak more no more of it on-air. I wouldn’t want to be responsible for mentioning about get of the mic and make the drama stand out to the listener.

I do think for a space for a few weeks to adjust is odd to move the timings of the breakfast show that would for those who work through the summer seems to be odd for the regular routines of listeners. I wonder if this could be indications that at the end of Annie Mac’s tenure in the ‘Future Sounds’ slot that Clara Amfo became more regular on that slot. Wonder if in the next few months Clara would be announced to move on.

Schedule is already updated and shows RMC at 1100 and Dean and Vicky at 1300.
Though interestingly Katie still starts at 1030 on a Friday but maybe that is due to Anthems too.

Also feel like they are giving Sam & Danni some extra “Promo” ready for their weekend breakfast show by giving them the extra half hour into the normal breakfast show. I take it that it’s just RMC loosing 30 minutes from their show and no further shuffling?

I'd say it was an integral and iconic part of BBC Radio's offerings ... But then, I used to think that of the Classified Football Results.

Hi I'm James and I've been using the site for just under a year. I found the site in July 2022 looking up something from Scott's show (think it was something in the whoooo game???) after Scott and Chris announced they were leaving. I was lurking and reading the forum for a while but became a member a few months after that. I'm a big radio nerd and listen to Radio 1 as well as Radio 2, 1Xtra, 6 Music regularly and bits of Asian Network, 5 Live and BBC Local as well

Possibly, although the media have been on the case too. I think it was becoming difficult to defend with Shania and Anne-Marie on the playlist, and Elton turning up for an interview. They could argue some of the songs they've dismissed before were low in the charts - but she's in the top 10 and that's probably going to rise.

One wonders if this site has played any part in that ...
