Celebrity Scissorhands is returning to BBC Three for a third series in aid of Children In Need.

Award-winning hairdresser Lee Stafford will once again take charge at the Celebrity Scissorhands Hair & Beauty Academy and train a new group of star contestants. Big Brother's Little Brother host George Lamb is also returning to front the show.

As usual, the Scissorhands Academy will open its doors to celebrity clients and members of the public, who will be asked to pay what they think their treatment is worth. All money raised will be donated to Children In Need.

"We are thrilled that Celebrity Scissorhands is returning to BBC Three for a third series," said Suzanne Gilfillan, Executive Editor for BBC Entertainment. "Celebrity Scissorhands is a hide-behind-your-hands entertainment show that draws viewers in, often in horror and disbelief, as members of the public throw themselves in to the hands of the celebrity trainees, all for BBC Children in Need.

"It makes for compelling viewing and we can't wait to see how the new trainees will fare in Lee's hands this time round."

It appears to be the end for Scissorhands judging by the line up:

Amongst this year's celebrity trainees are: The Apprentice's Lucinda Ledgerwood, ex-EastEnders actress Shana Swash; R&B singer and MOBO nominee Jay Sean and Stedman Pearson from Eighties pop sensation Five Star.

Celebrity Scissorhands, from Sunday 26 October 2008, on BBC Three

wow thats a bit of a let down :(

maybe they're holding back details on some of the trainees so we have something to actually get excited about! either that or it's the best they got... which is more than a little worrying. I thought last year was alright, as was the year before, but judging by that line up, I'm not hopeful.

I think Greg James should have done it. He's up early every morning so it would fit in with his schedule. Chappers was apparently asked to do it.

I tuned in last night and felt it had lost it's spark in the current format. The bloke from Grange Hill doesn't even do acting any more, he cuts keys! It's should have been renamed just 'Scissorhands'.

I don't think I'll be visiting for a third series at this rate... Poor kiddies.

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
