So, I turned on the radio to be told that Harry dies. Wasn't very happy, really. Then it was all a joke, so it's okay. Plus, I've found out who does actually die.

Also, what was that about the Stig? I only heard the bit at the Entertainment news.

Oh thanks Scott, you've saved me a night out from Tesco. I can go out, I can have an enjoyable summer, and I won't get print on my hands.

If they do books on tape, could you get that bloke to do it?

Ha Ha what you saying, i've not got a voice for the old speaking thing?;)

You do WHAT to cows???

Jo Whiley in Live Lounge just said The Gym Class Heroes "Clothes Off" is based on the old Jermaine Stewart hit "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off" but I can't see any similarity myself, I was disappointed when I first heard the new Gym Class song because I'd thought it 'd be a cover but it wasn't. Jermaine Stewart's song is quite sad, it's about how he doesn't want to be treated as a sex object.

UM is a nice place

Oh, so they met in Gym Class. Imaginative. I'm a bit bored of them to be honest, but will be interested to see what their cover is.

I'm getting abuse purely because my facebook status says "Jono is upset Scott Mills revealed Harry Potter dies. I was trying to avoid knowing the ending or being associated with the book."

I plan to put a "queue here for Harry Potter book" sign outside Budgens tonight. Even though we close at 10pm and don't sell books.

How bizarre. "Hello! Meet our last Six Weeks Of Summer competition winner Karla from St Helens. Lucky Karla got in early and won before the BBC stopped all competitions - well done love!"

The Arctic Monkeys cover was horrid. I didn't like that...

Apply anyway Jono, say that you are willing to learn etc etc etc

Yeah, I'd like to know more about the lower jobs they have available, but I imagine no matter where I start off they'll want some more experience. And the local commercial stations here are so networked they don't seem to want to take anyone on, nor offer work experience. Bit rubbish having the same company in the majority.

Ooooh, just heard this...

Is it true that Homer is run over by a bus at the end of the new Simpsons film?

Are you trying to start the new spoiler? I actually wanted to see that movie

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
