have you texted in to radio 1 before

I can't help myself but send in a text or e-mail to the DJs when I hear something I feel I need to comment on. Some get read out, some get replies. I think Moyles has read my e-mails before, but he usually just says "e-mail here says..." or "apparently..." etc.

When I first listened to Scott's show I used to send in quite a lot of texts about whatever Scott was on about. Don't need to do that any more now I use Your Views, but I'd be a nervous wreck without it, wanting to text in all the time!

Think about the amount of people that listen to the show via their phones, radio and computers? Then consider how many emails and texts the average Radio 1 show gets? I believe Scott reads a lot of the emails he gets, and the team reads the incoming emails.

I'd much rather someone read out my posts from a fan site as you know you're writing something thats catching the attention of the very people from your show. Its great that the team on the Scott Mills show read here.

What do you mean, a typo there?

Scott reads his e-mails, and the team look at the texts.

i dont think the team could have access to scotts email the mess that could come out of that is quite damaging

I think you can. Sometimes Presenters are too busy to read each email. Producers and Assistant Producers are just as good at spotting an email and mention it.

I felt it was an achievement being able to listen to Radio 1 all evening without getting caught. I text in and e-mail in frequently, not for mentions, but because I think it's something worthy of noting. For example I'll e-mail Moyles if I think he's said something that needs correcting, or other DJs with something witty. If I was after mentions for what I say I'd kick up a fuss about Your Views, but I don't :D

I've texted in a few times and got results amazingly. One text got read out when he was covering the morning show. The other time i got a call back to go on the honesty game which was pretty surprising especially as no one had my new mobile number at that stage so i was shocked just to see it vibrating. I don't text in that often, its usually just when i get a sudden urge to.

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
