And it doesn't look so good for Radio 1 this time, predicitably there was a slight slump with the quarterly results, as there always seems to be at this time of the year.

From Media Guardian:

"Radio 1 breakfast host Chris Moyles enjoyed another record audience, albeit marginally, up from 6.81 million listeners in the previous quarter to 6.82 million in the last three months of 2006.

But overall Radio 1 lost more than 300,000 listeners compared with the previous quarter, down to 10.26 million. It lost 30,000 listeners year-on-year, but saw its share rise from 9.2% to 9.7% because those that stayed listened longer."

Meanwhile it seems 1Xtra's figures are down again, now standing at 368,000.

If those figures include the Christmas period, its not surprising there was a slump. Next lot should be more interesting.

yeah there was some poor radio over christmas i thought. it's shaping back up a bit from this week on.

I wonder where Radio 1 is falling down, cos although Moyles has put on, it's lost about 300,000. Could it be the new specialist schedule, or perhaps Edith Bowman?

Any info would be cool. Btw, Christmas fortnight is not included in RAJAR, so the survery would have finished just before that.
