Digital listening and R1

Computer stream tends to be about 30 seconds behind the FM, then the TV is about 6 seconds behind FM and the DAB is about 5 seconds behind FM. I managed to get FM, DAB and Internet stream all playing at once one day by mistake and it was headspin stuff. Scott talking at 3 different speeds!

My DAB radio does FM too, but I can't imagine ever using it. The local radio stations round here are on DAB, and the Uni radio station is on AM, and I don't have an AM radio so I can only listen online. The local stations aren't great anyway. My phone has FM radio though.

So if I had a DAB and put that on with the digital tv I could get the echoing cave effect? First time I though there was actually a reason to buy DAB ^ _ ^ !!!

Are DAB's that good? I've asked for one for Christmas but is it worth it?

For the quality NO.the quality is not that good yes radio 1 and 2 is at 128 kbps stereo (although it did use to be 192 when DAB first came out, Radio 3 still is 192 btw) but 5 live is crap at 64 kbps in mono-its almost as bad as AM.

For variety of stations yes it's better (depending on where you live), here in Sussex I get a great Dance sation (passion radio) that is only on DAB, I can also pick up kiss which has a few good specialist shows and other alternative staions such as planet rock, XFM (which dont intrest me but im sure they do to others). On FM I only get the bbc stations, Southern (G-Cap clone) and Juice.

I also have one which can record so I can record the shows I want to listen to and play it again when I want.

That's what my one does. At home the sound quality is better on DAB, but if I got a better aerial for my stereo I'm sure there wouldn't be much difference. Being able to rewind and record and pause is the best thing about my DAB, and being able to get Virgin Xtreme and The Storm and Kerrang at home and XFM here.

Which make is your's Lucinda? I'm looking for the one I want but I don't seem to be able to find one that can record!

Best ones are:

"The Bug"

"Pure Evoke 3"

Bug is the cheapest at £74.99,Pure Evoke 3 is £179.99

I have the bug myself and recomend it highly, Im into my specialist dance music and record alot specilaist shows that are normally on at some stupid time of night or when im out, but can now listen to them when ever I want.

You can also update the latest software onto it by connecting it to a computer and downloading the latest software for it.
