Really? I must be thick as pig sh*t then!

In Decenary (normal numbers) first number from the right is how many single units, next number is 10's next 100's and so on.

In Binary each subsequent number is a factor of 2. (I think it's a factor anyway)

so first colum is 10 to the power 0, next is 10 to power 1, next is 10 to power 2 (i.e. 100) etc.

So just replace 10 with 2

0 = 0

1 = 1

2 = 10

3 = 11

4 = 100

5= 101

6= 110

you get the idea

Sometimes here, sometimes not.

Have you got the Binary one? I really cant get it! :cry:

imagine above all the numbers is a long line that goes

128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1

And below are the numbers 1 or 0 to indicate you should add that number so

1011 = 11 as illustrated

128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1

0____0__0__0_1_0_1_1 = 11

8+2+1 = 11

Sometimes here, sometimes not.
