Radio 2 in the Park 2024

Ye Olde Sam Bailey (Use to be Sam from Online) has hinted at big things coming Radio 1's way in September, possibly including a new radio 1 website. Hopefully some of these features will add even more interactivity to Radio 1.

I dont think the website needs updating either really. It already has all the features you are likely to need. Tey should put more time and money in to things that do need changing like the station sound. These new PTM Ra-di-o 1 things are awful

Not a bad idea. It's not to bad though, decent music is making a comeback. In the chart update thing, Greg said something about all the main contenders and they were all UK artists. That can't be a bad thing

I think the site is good enough and is modern enough, there are still a lot of sites out there that look like they were designed and launched in 1997 and just left alone.

I like the R1 Site - I would like to see the DJ Record of the Week online faster, because I have to specifically tune in and wait to hear what Mills has to say, before I can get a topic out of it.

Also, I would like to view far more shows online. The red button idea is genius and it should be used more and more...

Live webcams are probably the next big move, I think radio 2 has live webcams...

Also, Records of the Week start on a Monday, so they really should be put out there on Monday... I had several people asking me on Twitter last night what Scott's record of the week is... See!! It causes a lot of confusion because it is being posted at a point where the record of the week is pretty much almost finished.

5Live definitely do, but they've expanded it to more shows now, used to be just the 2-4 slot so Richard Bacon mon-thurs and then Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode on Fridays, think even Up All Night uses it now.

All the time on r2. The ROTW is also stated in the show's playlist I believe, and why should people care what it is that much any way? If they are that bothered about it they can just listen to the show. It's not a difficult concept.

Red button is impractical as they need an OB truck and satellites dish etc. on the road, and is expensive to hire the road. BBC sold a freeview red button channel, so only have 1.... And, if they were to build a satellite it would only be working for a couple of years until they move.

It is a new website, on the Teen Awards vote page it says: "In order to vote for the Teen Awards, you must sign in to BBCiD. By signing up for BBC ID to vote, you will get exclusive access to the new Radio 1 and 1Xtra homepages later in September!"

I think it's safe to assume the new site will closely resemble the nice Teen Awards and Big Weekend pages. Still can't get used to the fragmented Radio 1 logo though - I understand that they don't want two BBC logos in close proximity, but it makes the branding look like completely different from what everyone's used to. It's the same with the rest of BBC Online.

Yes, I quite like the design on Radio 2 and 6Music but you're right about the logo Ant. It doesn't quite look right.

I quite like 6 Music's page, Radio 2 is ok as well. I don't like the square box styles they use for teen awards, Radio 4 Extra, and Doctor Who though, and I have a feeling Radio 1 may be moving to that kind of blocky style :/
