RADIO 1 DJ Edith Bowman has slammed girl band The Saturdays, saying they’re boring Girls Aloud rip-offs.

Talking about the current pop scene, Bowman, 36, said: “We need something different – everyone is the same.”

And she was quick to diss The Saturdays in particular, saying: “They are just copying Girls Aloud. They are not exciting.”

She's got a point but the whole 'copying' thing has been happening for years... and there's far worse offenders, like the various bands that were like Steps and the way they constantly murdered and mauled various 70s songs by artists such as Abba and the Bee Gees.

Professional eater of puppy dogs, baby heads and killer of grannies...

Unofficial Mills: The Daily Star reports that @edibow has criticised The Saturdays for copying Girls Aloud. "They're not exciting" she adds.

Edibow: @unofficialmills and?

I sense she still holds a grudge against the site...

;376882']Where did the grudge come from?

She took issue with my comments about her afternoon show a while back.

She seems to now be suggesting it isn't true. I would guess it comes from the backlash

Edith is right, the copying has been around for ages though.

Girls Aloud are a copy of the Spice Girls, there all shit & superficial it's just about getting a girl to appeal to each type of bloke., a blonde, brunette, red head, big boobies, small boobies etc then dress them up in skimpy little dresses & then film soft porno for the music video,. ok they are using their looks to get money but they cannot sing & have no talent,. it's just a marketing machine to make the likes of Simon Cowell more money.

you must have done something for her to block you.

Well, she is correct. The Saturdays are copying Girls Aloud, and they are doing a decent job of it as well. There is a market for disposable pop and The Saturdays are filling it.

Anyway, Edith Bowman is a Radio 1 DJ who is, in my opinion, terrible at what she does, so she is in no position to criticise anyone else. If you are going to do that you had better be sure you are good at what you do.

Edith isnt.

by your thinking then, you yourself are in no position to criticise Edith & her DJing skills,

disposable pop is running music, as is manufactured singers/bands of course if you are a tweeny i retract my comments & understand your viewpoint :)
