You can guarantee that can you? Because you’re an insider? None of us can guarantee anything. It’s possible they might keep Rickie and Melvin together on late nights and perhaps Spoony’s going to drive? I wouldn’t bet on that idea but it’s not impossible. 

I am not a fan of Jamie Laing and my Radio 1 listening declined a lot after Jordan left but.... 
(a) I don't think it's a valid complaint to say somebody doesn't work enough
(b) I really become convinced that many radio stations are more about habit than presenter.  

I really hope OJ is getting the show full time

Jamie Laing’s appearances on Going Home 

I am writing with concerns about the amount of time JamieLaing and to a lesser extent Vick Hope are absent from Radio 1 Going Home.

Going Home is a major part of Radio 1 and is titled Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie. It is 4 days a week Monday-Thursday and deserves consistency.

Jamie is away an awful lot, does not appear committed to the station in terms of his attendance and that his social media is geared solely towards his private projects and little mention of Radio 1 compared to the other presenters.

I’m not against presenters having other private work but believe that having your name to such a show means that for most weeks you should be presenting your show most days the show is on. I appreciate presenters sometimes require extended time off for personal or other commitments but this should be the exception than the norm. I strongly believe that the current situation is far from satisfactory for the following reasons. 1. It is not fair on the listeners to have such a disrupted show not knowing who is on and it’s not fair on Katie to keep having to adjust to different cohosts 2. I dont believe it is fair on the current talent who live and breath radio who would be more committed to Radio 1 and I dare say at a better value show rate to license fee payers which in this day and age of cuts which I hate to see but understand is necessary.

The saviour of Radio 1 returns tomorrow morning 

I think at this stage, thanks to all of todays announcements and Kirsten O’Brien’s move to R2, that it’s fair to assume that OJ will take over drivetime, and Richie will be taking overnights. 

I think the delayed announcement will be due to the logistics and contracts around moving drivetime to Salford and the impact that will have on production teams and facilities. We’ve seen this before when it took R1 so long to announce Sam & Danni as the weekend afternoon hosts. That was due to the impact of moving production of weekend breakfast from Cardiff to Salford. 

So now we know she's beginning on July 6th.

I think it's very much meant as sarcastic. 
Some might argue the current 2 days a week is a phased return to a 3-day schedule following paternity leave. However, that ignores that he was 2 days a week from September long before his baby was born. And that was after he had a 6-week summer break. 
I'm heard unconfirmed rumours Lorraine Kelly slightly tuts when seeing the Going Home attendance figures.

The whole situation has probably left some of it's top stars thinking should I bother sticking around? If Scott has been sacked and maybe worse erased from memory why would you carry on being so loyal to them? Hence Zoe Ball moving on(even though she must be near the end of a contract?)
I'd love him to clear his name ASAP and get back soon. In my opinion the BBC need to buck their ideas up and fast!

Yep Lauren joked today about going into labour on the show and while that surely wouldn't happen (and in an absolute emergency you'd just have RMC continue or the Going Home start early) but surprised they could get nobody else in. 
This is where Going Home rotation is such a pain - wouldn't it just have been easier to have Jamie do a 4-day week for once on the show that has his name in the title and then have Emil covering afternoons this week rather than a heavily pregnant Lauren?  
 

Yep back at ya - Scott has the ability to get us invested in the most mundane of stuff!
