Well we can add Eamonn Holmes to his list of impressions. Hope that doesn't mean he's today's guest.

Maybe they should play Jo Whiley clips of Paul saying "sounds like award winning radio to me". She might laugh more....

Also what's going on in the background? You can hear a bit of studio talk in between the songs I'm sure.

Could have fooled me, I have no idea what the day is when it's 7am in the morning. Does this show not put the worst images in your head?

That music, Eamonn Holmes looking at Laura's wabs, a dwarf with his wanger in the hoover, Lorraine Kelly singing about bras...

You have to laugh at BBC Switch. I'm half expecting Annie Mac to come out holding a sock just to show Scott how kids presenting is done.

This in the Daily Mail recently. They some how managed to remove Emma's baby. Either way you're on to a winner if it's a spice girl, Chopper can look after their kids and entertain them.

This happened in Hollyoaks. Craig found out the toughness of it all when his girlfriend Sara became a model. I don't really remember what happened, but he got upset, and the next minute he was in bed with another man. I'm not sure that's typical of every boyfriend of a model though...

I feel a little uneasy at the moment, I seem to like both Shayne Ward Warn's new song and Leona Lewis' new song. What's the betting I don't like the X Factor 2007's winning song.

Also that's flipping marvellous. They'll deliver Chappers a costume hat thingy, but they won't deliver anything else till Thursday.

I'm worried already Scott's going to embarrass himself of a Spice Girls legend by getting them to sing the ladies bras song!

Haha, Daniell O'Donnell's latest calendar is something special. There was loads at the local radio station I was at. There's lots of cheesy poses of him in his home.

Have they moved him into the garage instead? It might not be anything. My postman always leaves stuff in the garage. It's probably a desk or something that the postie couldn't be arsed to deliver to the door.

Hi Jono just here for 10 mins between shower and having to finish getting ready to go - I agree the shows have been good this week - breakfast obviously has a different atmosphere to afternoons but I've loved Matt Damon and the A listers.

Also -I own a Henry and I'm never going to look at him the same way again.

Well thank god they got rid of that irritating In New Music We Trust *beep beep beep beep* jingle.

I was trying to explain to my friend about Captain Dan. It took more time trying to explain politely what a 'wanger' was... sigh!

Stupid early morning... I had images of David Gest when he said "David Walliams".

Two Emma's. That'd be my worst nightmare. All Emma's are evil, they'll suit evil shouting like this.

Tesco? Someone needs to do this in Budgens in Norfolk.

Like we're open before 8 o'clock...

Oh sorry - so used to 24 hour supermarkets but then I think the nearest Budgens to me is in Ascot - obviously they're far too posh to open early :D

David Walliams gives me the creeps possibly even more than David Gest. Can't imagine any man or woman wanting to be with him to be honest. Russell Brand is more my idea of a man who should be gay but isn't.

Sod the Spice Girl, I want to know what's in that garage now.

I think Emma - she's nice and also has a baby so will be up early :)

I bet it's some sick joke, and it's actually Avid Merrion for both the Spice Girl and surprise guest.

I guess the model story didn't take off then? No legs? Ho ho.

Haha, I thought she said 'Headlice'. Well it'll suit Children In Need I guess.

In all fairness GMTV had the exclusive announcement. How dare he deceive us.

"It's the best venue in the world". Brilliant, so now Radio 1's Big Weekend will be coming from the Millennium Dome next year.

Still doesn't mean today's guest isn't Geri. I'm hardly looking forward to Mel C next week. And is her second life lived as a nit nurse? She going to bring in the shampoo and nit combs?

If so they best disinfect the green room, remember when those bugs were on the sofa? Could be headlice next.

I'd quite like Moira Stuart sometime. She's not doing much now. She could guest present Newsbeat too 8)

He's wheeling in the guest? That must mean it's someone in a wheel chair. OMG! It's gotta be Stephen Hawking.

I think they should bring out some of the older jingles back. Moyles uses the old ones now too, so I don't see why they should stick with the same style.

Radiohead have an album out soon. I hope to god it's not one of them. How depressing would that be?

And wow, I've found the next role for Laura: The join the Spice Girls audition band.

"VH1 is to celebrate the Spice Girls reunion tour by putting together a girl power tribute band.

The six episodes of Wannabe: Spice Girls will intersperse footage of the auditioning process with clips of the iconic girl group's chart-topping pop career.

Auditions will take place in the home towns of the pop five-piece - London, Watford, Leeds and Liverpool - from October 19."

    • I mean I've been growing our engagement on Facebook in my department, there's still an untapped audience there. Also, as you alude to, the number of community groups has grown a lot since lockdown. I'd love to hear more about their thinking. If this had been Radio 1's strategy I don't think anyone would have disagreed.
    • I think they must’ve been slowly killing of their social media presence I know for Radio 2 and 6 they do have dedicated unofficial social media groups so there is an audience. All Request Friday and features like that has a place on social media as can get requests via comment sections but I think Facebook struggles to know what it is these days.
    • I just think it's more about what they're doing. If all you've got is a DJ dancing to Beyonce's latest hit for thirty seconds or Sara Cox reading out the All Request Friday number in a funny way it's not really what Facebook prioritises. I think it's great that studio interaction, but it does lend itself to Instagram and TikTok more. But I honestly believe there is a place for Facebook with the Radio 2 audience. The trouble is Radio 2 have barely used Facebook for the last year so there doesn't seem to have been a strategy there.
    • Agree, all I'd see on x was medical professionals from other health trusts having a very carefully worded pop at each other, mixed in with a clip of jeremy vine with a camera on his helmet, a very strange place indeed! I imagine they have some data to back it up, but is the r2 audience really using tiktok?
    • I get not putting resources into X which these days is a strange mix of angry political debate and adult content only. But you'd think Facebook was still the most popular social channel amongst Radio 2 audiences.
    • Radio 2 seem to have decided that their strategy is just short video, so it does probably make sense with Instagram and TikTok. But I find it hard to believe there's not longer form content that wouldn't suit Facebook better.
    • These late announcements are so lacklustre. It's not quite like the time they announced Harry Styles last minute!
    • Friday - Nathan Dawe, Wilkinson Saturday - Jax Jones Sunday - London Grammar, Remi Woolf, AJ Tracey
    • Probably got fed up of the usual moaning bastards all over it, asking for Ken Bruce and Jimmy Young back on air.
    • Think it may have been better to include Radio 1 in this and 1 xtra ultimately focus on boosting a BBC Sounds social media to bring the multi-generational content marketed to a broader audience through one singular channel and having a separate social brand skewed to younger audiences maybe they should consider just having a @BBC @BBCSounds  @BBCSport @BBCNews @BBCFresh (youth brand) social media acounts national.
    • Although a lot of their target audience do seem to be moving across to Instagram now.
    • I suppose it's because not a lot of people use Twitter (or X) so maybe it's not worth their time, surprised about Facebook though.
    • Surprised to learn Radio 2 and 6 Music are moving away from X and Facebook, I would have thought there's more appeal in Radio 1 doing that instead. Their target audiences still use Facebook, and it's still a key way to reach a good mix of audiences. Agree about X though, don't see any need for it. https://radiotoday.co.uk/2024/05/bbc-radio-2-and-6-music-quit-facebook-and-x-publishing/
    • Just wondering…has any DJ got the answer wrong yet? I’ve not heard one and they are pretty tough questions! 😆
    • On the weekends theme @Bluestraw said this in the chatbox but I was listening live to James cusack's show yesterday and agree it would be a travesty if he doesn't feature in the weekend plans. Both the greg james fb page and users on digital spy are saying similar. Imagine that, being both part of the LGBTQ+ community but able to appreciate good presenters in 2024.
