Hi there! Emma’s a little snowed under with coursework today, so she’ll be reviewing your Wednesday show, and I’ll do today’s. Aren’t you excited?

Right in with a bit of Innuendo Bingo from the rugby at the weekend…

Rugby Commentator: ” We all love a really big tackle…. It’s gotta be legal though!”

Pleasuring the Students at Fresher’s Week

Both Scott and Chappers were doing their DJ-ing duties at Lincoln and Hull Universities, respectively.

Chappers, as a combination of his Chappers and Dave gig and Man Utd match (part of the Premier League Allstars match on Sky One) at the weekends, is sound very poorly. Only managing to get out one story on the news at 3.30 earlier, he’s beyond the sexy raspy voice. In fact, some are even claiming he sounds like Madge from neighbours… “Harold!”

As for Scott, people in Hull were giving him into trouble for his ‘go to university single’ lesson on last weeks show. People were near to slapping him, because they were claiming their boyfriend/girlfriend had heard the show, and as a result, dumped the soon afterwards! Mary’s off to Aberystwyth university, but as far as Laura knows, she’s single. I wonder if her new found celebrity status as the “girl who reads out Laura’s Diary” will get her anymore action with the lads…?

Record of the Week

…Is Leona Lewis - Bleeding love. Scott’s claiming its not as bad an idea as it sounds, however much I beg to differ… According to Scott, her album that’s coming out is surprisingly not too bad. He reckons she wont be like all the other failures like Steve Brookstein (whoooo?!) and Michelle McManus (the fat lass). Scott guarantees you’ll love it by the end of the week. I hope he’s sure about that…

Are You bored? Get Naked!

So, what do you do when you get bored? Chappers watches telly, Laura cleans and generally puts things in baskets, but one guy in America has proven Scott’s theory that when bored, blokes generally just get naked… (is he speaking from experience?). This American guy decided he had nothing better to do, so stripped, and robbed at shop, with his wanger out and everythin’. After police watched the CCTV, they recognised him because there had been complaints of him standing at his window naked.

Surprisingly though, Scott and Chappers both claim to having walking around their house in the buff. Actually, Scott even elaborates, and tells us he loaded the washing machine this morning completely naked. Apparently, according to Chappers, watching telly with your hands down your pants is another thing blokes do… or is that just Chappers?

Flirt Divert

I imagine flirt divert has been especially busy over the weekend what with it being freshers week an’ all. Heres a little taster of who you met over the weekend…

hello sarah, this is jack splash! Please call me”

“hi matt, its Rachel. Why are you sending me pictures of your dingly-dangly?” - another reason for guys to get naked.

I love how Rachel, the second girl, cant seem to be able to say penis.

Have You Been a Victim of X Factor Guilt Yet?

Scott certainly has. He caved at the weekend when Emma sang ‘Your Heart Will Go On’ off’ve Titanic. Although, you’ll probably remember her better for her dress and her size. So, her and her family are big boned, is the patronising music really needed? I mean, you probably did lugh at some point, but its ashame. Her Dad slaved for 3 days making that dress for her big shot at stardom. The worst bit was when she came out to tell her family the bad news and said “not one of them liked my dress”. Bless her. They should’ve left it there though, but no, they did what is possibly the worst thing to do on x factor, and that was to re enter the audition room with an army of relatives and fight back. But it didn’t work.

Also on todays show, phats and small ‘star’ Ben still cant resist bursting into song when hes on the telly….”hey! Whats wrong with you!”.

Scott plays a clip of a Swedish TV Host throwing up live on tv, and makes poor Natalie off’ve the entertainment news nearly throw up too…

Don’t forget, Noel Gallagher is doing the legends show tonight

    • Dean McCullough in for Greg w/c 4th August. James Cusack on EB.
    • Well looks like Mollie is off all month now so presumably a personal matter.
    • Intrigued why Matt & Mollie aren't presenting breakfast on Monday, with James in for them instead (which has happened before).. or even James given a chance to present the breakfast show?
    • Sam & Danni seem to be down for Breakfast on Monday. James Cusack on Going Home. That’s another new name in the list of “people who have hosted Going Home in 2025”.
    • Wednesday, surely? But this is another mess, as this weeks Summer press release said it’ll be Sam & Danni no Jamie from the 28th - so it’s actually a whole week earlier!
    • Jamie Laing’s last show before his summer break will be on Wednesday 16th July.
    • I worked out once Scott spent 3 months of a year off his own slot in the Moyles days and more like 4 in Grimmys days, six weeks of his own holiday and projects, six covering Grimmy plus some ad hoc days
    • Back on topic, I think there's quite a few of the current Radio 1 presenters who would be able to adapt to Radio 2's style in the future. It's more of question of how many of them will actually end up there. With much of R2's line up changed over the past couple of years, it's quite possible we won't see much movement there, and R2 management might even decide to look elsewhere to bring in new presenters in future.
    • With OJ covering on bank holidays. She is the best person for the job however... they're going to end up with a situation like Scott covering R1 breakfast back in the day, where she spends quite a bit of time off her own slot covering Breakfast, plus her own holiday and other commitments. She's been filming for something recently which has meant she's been off several days a week since May. She was off last week, on breakfast this week, OJ is on Mon/Tues next week, then She's off the following two weeks.
    • Looking back at this I would say now that Sara is the main cover - I think she has been reestablished as it now
    • Purley on the R1 Dance station.. Someone on DS said don't expect to see any changes to the schedule on the new stations however if they are taking on Capital Dance with this, which they clearly are, which has live presenters 7am - 10pm except for the 11am mix then they'll surely have to have a proper scheduled set of shows. At the moment Arielle is the only "live" per say show and only "live" a few days a week with earlier shows being repeated Thursday Friday and Saturday. Connor and Charlie are clearly pre records but was this only for the time it was online only and they have already got a schedule ready to go on day 1? also of note is that Charlie is taking over a podcast as well as starting a new project with podcasting which makes me wonder if she is about to step back from Dance Anthems all together to concentrate on those and Connor takes over? So you could have Arielle doing 9-12 weekdays live then someone else 12-3 and Connor live 3-6 on R1D and doing Dance Anthems on a Saturday.
    • As none of the Going Home Team aren't currently on the air, that's a bit if an issue. Considering most of the Dance DJs will be out there, I'm surprised none of them are being utilised to host the 1-4 slot that weekend.
    • Going Home presenters have done the last few years ?
    • Nat and Vicky are being sent to Ibiza this year. They’ll be live on Friday 1st August from 1-4pm.
    • Since Radio 1 Dance and Anthems have been allowed to broadcast on DAB, do we think they’ll be a proper schedule of shows like on Radio 1 Dance with the morning show and Dance Anthems at drive time. Maybe Lauren Redfern, Tyler Selby, Chrissy Cameron or Matt Hallsworth will be scheduled on named shows like Hits Radio 00s or Capital Anthems rather than the generic ‘Radio 1 Anthems’ show. Obviously it would probably cost more to produce actual shows on the station however.
