"If you would prefer to continue talking about the issues currently discussed on Daytime Chat, during the next week, we’re happy for users to post links to external message boards outside the BBC (house rules permitting)."

Theres your chance right there to do some serious shameless plugging jono.

Ooh, didn't see that Stacey. I'm wondering if to replace the message board links on Scott's page, there'll be room to say "what Unofficial Mills are discussing right now..." - an ideal world may be.

He's already taken it! :P

Yeah I didn't see it, but took the opportunity before hand :P

I think this is a prime example message boards do work, and be used really well with shows. I mean they have daily moderators working on them, it just needs fresh ideas and decent software.

i think they dont like the negative comments which is fair enough i have seen lots of djs on the boards on the webcam though

They all go on, well nearly them all. It was only really Edith and Colin who posted on it though.

I imagine this site to sort of be like your baby Jono, you've always got to be thinking of it and what's best for it.

Maybe I'm just going crazy....

I would just like to see some new faces on here, as whilst we're a forum devoted to Scott Mills, I'd love to get some real general Radio 1 discussion going on. And we're quite similar to the BBC message boards, young visitors.

It is just the daytime that is closing though. But apparently Radio 2 has seen sections like this close too.

Haha, George is being cut off too.

Haha, my parents are taking the pee because my head of sixth form says I "tend to have periods where I wobble a bit". Choon by the way!

Anyone want to request Born Slippy by Underworld for me? I can't get on because they ask me how old I am and I'm not tellling millions of people that, not even for a chance to speak to Scott...

I reckon you're more likely to get on than us!

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
