Alright Treacle?! Another day and another Scott Mills review. Nearly the weekend – can’t wait.

Chappers noticed something behind Scott at the start of the show. It was the finest basket of flowers and they were sent to Scott. Laura used to work in a grocery/flower emporium, and she named some of the flowers – she said it was a very masculine bouquet. There was a lot of fascination over a flower called ‘Little Boys Willies’ – a slang name. The flowers had a card, it said ‘Dear Scott, thanks for the campaign to get The Hoff to number 1, David Hasselhoff.’ Scott wondered why The Hoff was sending him flowers; he would have preferred a massive cookie from back in the nineties.

Chappers: “You ungrateful git, honestly, he sent you a massive bunch of flowers.â€

Scott was worried because he had to carry the flowers home on the bus – and he didn’t feel comfortable about it.

Back to the cookie thing, they were huge cookies off of the nineties; they were in every shopping mall all over the country. Instead of buying a birthday cake you’d get a big cookie in a big pizza box. The cookie would have your message on it in icing. Chappers had never heard of them.

Unofficial Mills

Scott said there was a poll going on at the moment on a website that is very dear to his heart – Unofficial Mills. The poll is their own version of Banzai – and what will actually happen next on the show. Chappers is featured highly in the poll. Scott read some of the options out on air. At the moment it’s quite close between ‘Chappers uses foul language in front of millions’ and ‘Laura gets up the duff’ which is in the lead.

All this led to a story about his flatmate. His flatmate does sound a bit camp and his mum is still convinced he’s gay. When he came back from Sri Lanka with Scott and Laura his mum asked if he had met any nice boys and girls while there. His flatmate is not gay; he’s 26 years old and is a lady magnet. Recently a girl had to be hypnotised so she could stop thinking about him. Go to the forum to vote and find out more!

More about The Hoff

Martin who was on his way back from Manchester rang Scott because he had some news about The Hoff for Scott. He got to meet The Hoff at the Arndale Centre in Manchester – he got his book signed. Scott asked listeners if any of them are going to see The Hoff because he’s doing millions of book signings all over the country could they pass on a message: “ thank you for the flowers†as he signs the book. If people are going to one of the book signings, Scott wants them to get The Hoff to write ‘you ate the food you drank the wine do the right thing’ in the book.

Scott and his Ideas

Chappers thought Scott said ‘how would you like to hang the Scissor Sisters’ when in fact Scott said ‘how would you like to hang with the Scissor Sisters’. This gave Scott an idea, Scott thought the ratings would go through the roof if they hung the Scissor Sisters. He decided to call it ‘Public Execution of Popstars on Radio 1’ - you could even watch it by pressing the red button on any BBC channel - Including an advert for Justin Timberlake in the electric chair.

Slip Ups

Scott made a few slip ups during the show. For the Scissor Sisters competition, Scott said ‘enter the Scissor Sisters’. Plus he still doesn’t get the game ‘Scissor Sisters Paper Stone’. On ‘Your Call’, Emma off of York asked for Nelly Furtado – Promiscuous. By accident Scott pressed the wrong button and played Britney Spears – Toxic. Scott later got a phone call from Johnny off of Glasgow. He wanted to know why Scott had cut Britney to put Nelly Furtado on. Scott explained about the rules of ‘Your Call’. He ended up playing Britney Spears – Toxic for Johnny.

The Worst Quiz in History

Scott thought people were being harsh because they thought ‘Scissor Sisters Paper Stone’ was the Worst Quiz in History. Chappers thought Scott was texting in to his own show. Scott then named some of the games he thought were the Worst Quiz in History. The games included: ‘Snakes and Ladders’, ‘What Fish Am I?’, ‘Guess the Mystery Salad Dressing’ (Scott thinks he should bring it back) and ‘My Little Pony’. If you had a pony what would you name it - Scott thought ‘My Little Pony’ was maybe the Worst Quiz in History.

The K Fed

Scott’s a fan of Kevin Federline – he thinks The K Fed is amazing and he’s fascinated by him. Scott wondered what The K Fed did apart from spend Britney’s millions. On the internet Scott found Kevin’s music video for his new single where he raps slowly. Chappers could understand every word he was rapping.

You can watch the video at www.youtube.com

Update on Laura and James

At the weekend James moved in with Laura. Laura said it’s going well. Yesterday she set James a challenge – he had to cook Laura a vegetarian pasta dish without using any pasta sauces. Laura said the meal was very nice – he made pasta bake with a salad. She took a picture of the meal on her phone to show Scott and Chappers - they said it didn’t look nice from the picture.

    • Would love for it to be like the Summer Friday Thing that me and @DC were remisincing about recently. Lots of events going on that could easily form part of it.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/summer/cardiff/thursday/1.shtml
    • I'm guessing there is also a stack of weekend events like Glastonbury
    • I think more likely it'll just be a temp presenter for weekends 1-4 to give Matt & Mollie time off, plus time to plan and pilot the new show.
    • Yeah I don’t think they’ll be anything that drastic - maybe a week or 2 of cover on early breakfast etc, but maybe just having that weekend afternoon slot covered over the summer means they can put someone on from September who maybe isn’t available until then?
    • But they said the main changes would happen in July.
    • But they said the main changes would happen in July.
    • I wouldn't be surprised if they do this around June time: 05.00 Ore Olukoga 07.00 Greg James 10.30 RMC 14.00 VKJ  That'll probably happen (for my guess) from the 17th June. And for weekends: 07:00 Sam & Danni 11:00 Gregor Davidson 15:00 Charlie Hedges Maybe Fridays aswell: 07:00 Greg James 11:00 Gregor Davidson 14:30 Jack Saunders
    • The Summer on Radio 1 thing makes me wonder whether they might be doing something similar to last year again where they have a temporary schedule over the summer before introducing changes in September - maybe the new host won’t start until after the summer?
    • There was talk on my Big Weekend group from the council about them waiting for Ticketmaster to send an email out. They said they've been waiting a week. Maybe they're waiting for train strike confirmation first.
    • It’s on Saturday and Friday that week too. I guess this would make sense, as it gives them roughly 6 weeks off weekends until they start the new show?
    • Yeah he's on more than usual including this Sunday and then 3 more shows in May according to the above. Makes me think it's James for the weekend shows also
    • For some reason there is 'Summer on Radio 1' listed on Sunday 2nd June, could this be replacing M&M until July?
    • They seem to be using James more for cover now makes me think it will be him getting weekends eitjer breakfast or 1 till 4
    • Yep am very much Capital Breakfast now. Jordan, Chris and Sian are a great trio and it's got that feel of the old shows Jordan and Chris used to do on Radio 1. It doesn't take itself too seriously but is packed full of content and slick. With Greg he's great but 6 years in you've probably heard it all before plus frankly I can sit through the Capital Playlist a lot more easily than the Radio 1 playlist (where some of the inclusions and omissions can be quite baffling at times). Plus after things like the Oscars or Met Gala or if there's a particularly big TV show or film or popstar then Greg won't half wang on about it at times. I guess it's partly to be expected with it being a Breakfast show on a young station but it can feel very London bubble and get tired.
    • Ore Olukoga is in for Arielle on Tuesday 14th May. James Cusack is in for Danny Beard on Saturday 1st June. James Cusack is in for Nat on Sunday 2nd June.
