Good actual afternoon. It's Thursday which means tomorrow is only bley Friday...

Welcome new listeners to the Unofficial Mills Website!

We joined Scott today on the quietest day ever, as everyone was stranded at airports across the country. Their mobile phone and blackberries were taken off them. Nobody knows each others number, so they can't ring each other, and so it was quiet for Scott. Chappers was left to entertain those in the delays.

Weather maps of the future... and there'll be rain coming from the north

Yesterday there was ground breaking news that Laura's feet could predict the weather. They said it'd be rainy in the morning, and dry in the afternoon. But Martin the weather guy said in London it'd be dry in the morning and rainy in the afternoon. And considering it was miserable by the time of the show, it looks like Martin was right. Laura argued she hadn't got it wrong, as most of London seemed to be claiming the weather was just how Laura predicted. Some of those places included Inverness, Cheshire, Oxfordshire, and Burnley.

There were more classic impressions today coming from Scott as Glyn off of Big Brother and the flying solo bird off of Mysteeq. Last night Big Brother housemates had to record their own voiceovers for Big Brother FM, and it looks like they could be Chappers' replacement. Scott thinks Imogen would be a great replacement for Chappers, where he asks her lots of topical questions on the show, like in The Sun where they ask the Page 3 model what she thinks about the latest current affairs.

And it was a quite sporty show today. Chappers is going for a drink with the England manager tomorrow and was looking for someone to take, should he take Lloyd? Others suggested Laura, but she was quite confused as to what happened to the last manager. Chappers also had an amazing competition today. He was giving away two nights at the England cricket team's hotel, time to watch the team practise, a Question and Answers session with some of the team, a skills session with one of the players, a mobile phone, and tickets to the first day of cricket... with an actual hamper! Faye from Middlesbrough got a call back and she won the hamper! (And the fantastic cricket prize too).

Madonna experiences the power of the Lord... Scott Mills

One caller on the way to tonight's Madonna gig was wondering if Scott could get Madge to postpone the gig by a few hours. She made a desperate plea to her, who was obviously listening to the show in her dressing room, and by the end of the show her wish was her command.

And remember Darren and Joanne from the beginning of the week? Read the reviews (or download the podcast) to find out more about that. Today David Crout sent in a song about Darren and Joanne called 'Do The Right Thing'.

Michael Jackson was chuffed with his exam results...

Whilst everyone's hammering on about exam results, Laura's sister is going on a gap year this autumn. She wants to go to Thailand and Australia and possibly somewhere else. Earlier today when talking to Laura she had raised £300 and doesn't plan to work when she gets there. The team seemed to find the whole idea quite amusing. Scott reassured listeners the team won't be answering the One Life phone line. Chappers reckons she could make Northern France.

Quite a quiet show today, and slightly disappointing. Tomorrow's show includes the Wonder Years, as its only bley Friday!

• Since Radio 1 Dance and Anthems have been allowed to broadcast on DAB, do we think they’ll be a proper schedule of shows like on Radio 1 Dance with the morning show and Dance Anthems at drive time. Maybe Lauren Redfern, Tyler Selby, Chrissy Cameron or Matt Hallsworth will be scheduled on named shows like Hits Radio 00s or Capital Anthems rather than the generic ‘Radio 1 Anthems’ show. Obviously it would probably cost more to produce actual shows on the station however.
    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
    • I’m pleased for Mylo and Rosie, they were highly thought of in our local area and definitely worthy of that slot
    • I’m thinking the same redding and Leeds etc
    • -Considering how little Jamie has appeared since Vick went off on maternity, it probably would've been more sensible to have Sam & Danni taking over from that point and have him return with Katie. - Mylo and Rosie are apparently very good and one of the more popular local presenters who lost their slot when Hits went fully national. I gather they are very popular in Yorkshire. I can see them definitely see them popping up again beyond this stint. -Life Hacks cover is yet another good opportunity for some new voices (I know Yinka has popped up in the past). I have enjoyed Pete Allison covering though. I'm assuming most of August's Friday to Sunday 1-4pm will be made up of festival coverage.
    • - Jamie Laing will take a break from Going Home from 28th July. Sam and Danni will cover. - Greg James will host his show until 11am from 21st July (Monday to Thursday only). - Mylo and Rosie, who previously hosted Hits Radio Breakfast in West Yorkshire, will host Friday EB in July. - Charley Marlowe of TikTok fame will host Friday EB in August. - Tskenya Frazer will host Life Hacks with Lauren Layfield in July, whilst Yinka Bikinni will host with Lauren in August. - Jamie Laing and Katie Thistleton will return to Going Home in September.
