I agree, could be Sara Cox. But you dont understand being a Mark & Lard fan, no matter who replaces them you have somthing against them. It's hard to explain as stupid as it sounds. But i'll give you a hand with anything you want (cos im nice like that). And dont mind Helen, she means no harm. She's just caught with the disease, like i am in a way. I think people blame the Radio 1 bosses for them leaving. But you could see they was getting bored with the playlist. I mean i agree with them that they were too old for it. But I reckon they should spend another year or 2 apart and then go back to Radio 1 and do the nighttime slot as they used to in the early 90's in John Peels place. John took a shine to Mark and Lard and they had similar tastes in music, so I think he would of liked it that way.

By the way, I dont know how much of this is true. But Mark & Lard did a chat with the sun, and they said that they wanted Colin & Edith to replace them. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,7-2004550916,00.html

Hi Mark and Lard. I was wondering if you ever listen to your afternoon show replacements Colin and Edith?

Bryony, Fulham

Mark - I honestly don't listen to Radio 1 anymore - I feel we have outgrown it as listeners and that was another reason we had to stop working there.

But the first time I heard Colin and Edith together I was driving with my wife and we both really enjoyed the show.

I remember coming back to Lard and saying: "These two are really good, if we ever leave they'd be great to take our place."

But you dont know what you can belive from the Sun...

im sending it straight to the creators of the site this is what ive put so far.....

hey as you probably are aware there is a fan site set up for scott called unofficial mills.and we would like to tell you how disturbed we are that you are making such petitions as this it is not up to you how radio one is run.

Although some of the discussions we have on the forums are about how scotts shows can be improved this is because scott is aware of this site and supports us 100% and does take our thoughts into account.

anymore ideas?

No I think that will do. Just let them know that Scott is a way talented better DJ than them. And they are not fit enough to replace the people they took over from.

I just thought you were gonna send it biggedybong then because you asked me for a link n i got mixed upabout where you were sending it.

    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
