The red emergency telephone
Scott and Chris cover Friday Breakfast, prompting several people to check that Scott has remembered to wake up. His solution is a red landline marked “emergency”, whose number is known only to a few colleagues and managers.
The phone should succeed when Scott's silent mobile, forgotten alarms or misplaced handset fail. He is already worried that distributing the number will attract PPI calls, but accepts it as a necessary defence against another missed Breakfast appea [...]
Chris needs a toilet, not Grand Designs
Scott worries that Chris looks pale after weeks living in a house with neither kitchen nor bathroom. The barbecue remains his main cooking appliance, while his attempt to rent portable toilets has proved unexpectedly expensive.
Chris contacts Kevin McCloud for help, but Scott says the project is several levels below Grand Designs and requires Nick Knowles instead. They distract themselves with a celebration of Beaconsfield services, where a caller has deli [...]
An accidental eyebrow slit
Scott notices that one of Chris's eyebrows looks different. Chris admits that he found a trimmer in a kitchen drawer, attempted to control the growth and accidentally removed a vertical section.
He initially fears that he looks like Dappy, but social media reveals that eyebrow slits have returned as a 2016 trend. Chris decides that the mistake proves he remains fashionable and begins encouraging everybody else to copy him.

The Tattoo Fixers enter the wet area
Jay Hutton, Alice Perrin and Sketch Porter visit ahead of Tattoo Fixers on Holiday and join Chris for Innuendo Bingo. Sketch worries about the temporary tattoo added to his arm, while Alice arrives ready to enjoy every clip rather than preserve any dignity.
The game travels through awkward radio links, property programmes, the Open golf and a Tour de France reference to exceptionally long skid marks. Alice declares the soaking the best experience ever, and th [...]
The world keeps the nostalgia coming
Scott and Chris expand the Whooo Game into a contest against eight callers. Everybody must name something old or forgotten and follow it with a mighty “whooo”, remaining in the game until the ideas run out.
The suggestions include phone cards, school sayings, Liberty X, Tots TV, Follow Friday, BlackBerry Messenger, dinner ladies ringing school bells, Pizza Hut's ice-cream factory, Bernard's Watch, fortune-telling plastic fish, red-and-blue 3D glasses and chil [...]
The green light does not arrive
Scott and Chris have spent days promising that Will Smith and Margot Robbie's Playground Insults will be heard at 13:45. Scott has promoted it on Greg James and Nick Grimshaw's programmes and Chris has told all his friends, but one final approval remains outstanding in Los Angeles.
They personify the missing decision-maker as “Hollywood”, imagining a powerful figure asleep in an enormous office. The time difference means the approval cannot arrive before transmiss [...]
Project Murphy imagines the impossible
Chris presents Project Murphy for Show and Tell, an artificial-intelligence bot that answers “what if” questions by generating images. His first request turns Scott into the face on a coin. Further attempts place him in Tudor clothing and apparently marry him to Dannii Minogue, although the system sometimes swaps the wrong faces.
The experiment becomes unsettling when Chris asks to be shown as Margot Robbie's best friend and receives an image combining his [...]
A lunch divides Scott and Chris
Chris returns with a pasta-heavy lunch for Scott, who is trying to eat more salad and immediately complains that the meal will make him sleepy. Chris points out the broccoli and accuses Scott of becoming showbiz now that their old lunches no longer meet his standards.
Attention then turns to the next day's interview with Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Scott wants both of them in suits for the occasion and repeatedly stresses the scale of the booking, while Chris wo [...]
