Ok, so I'm new on here so i don't know whether this topic's been done before, but here goes....

Which radio stations (other than Radio1 which is of course the best) do you think deserve more credit? Personally I also enjoy the sounds of XFM (104.9)

PS- Did anyone hear that punk rock thing on Radio1 last night? IT ROCKED!!!!

Cool lol. Has anyone listened to Chorley Fm? I haven't...but I just had a flashback to the programme on TV "Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere" and it was sponsered by them, with the slogan,

"Chorley FM - coming in your ears" Interesting use of marketing... lol!

BRMB Birmingham. They have some good DJ's on there sometimes. Like the other night when I was on my way home. The DJ said that there was a Ferarri outside the studios, so he went upstairs and printed off a for sale sign with his mobile number, saying this car was up for sale at a grand when it's worth over 100 thousand pounds. And he got calls with ppl saying that it was a joke n all that. Then he got this one guy who belived this was true and said he wanted to meet the DJ on Broad Street (Birmingham City Center). But soon after he got a call from the owner saying stuff like: "What the f**k do you think you are playing at? I'll break ya f**kin legs" n all that. Pretty good, but BRMB has no listen again so i missed the chance to record it... oh well.

on the grid.

VIRGIN?!?!?!? VIRGIN?!?!?!? I do not like Virgin, they have lured Christian O'Connell with a briefcase of cash :( I will be very upset if Lauren does not take his place, I'm sorry but i do need an alternative to Moylesy once in a while! I love Dave though, he's lovely and he's an Everton fan!

*Shudder* Virgin Radio. It's as cheap as the coke they make.

It's mostly Radio 1 for me. Occasionally if there's nothing much on I'll switch to North Norfolk Radio for the comedy element. That's usually when the specialist shows come on.

But I could quite happily spend the day listening to Radio 1

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
