12 October 2021: Scott found a man wearing a public “I cheated on my girlfriend” board

Walking to work had become Scott’s source of weird content

Scott had started walking from the station more often.

Partly it made him feel a little fitter.

More importantly, strange things seemed to happen whenever he gave the outside world enough opportunity.

He had already filmed Princess Anne getting into a car.

He had seen unusual processions.

Now, only seconds from the station, he found something even better.

A man wearing an enormous sandwich board.

The sign confessed to cheating

The message was written on both sides.

“I cheated on my girlfriend on Thursday and this is my punishment.”

People were photographing him.

Scott filmed too — but only after checking the man was okay and asking whether he minded.

That was the part which interested Scott more than the spectacle.

If this genuinely was a punishment imposed by a partner, was standing in public humiliation really a healthy way to repair a relationship?

Listeners were divided.

Some thought the man deserved embarrassment if he had cheated.

Others immediately suspected a marketing stunt for a dating app.

Scott never fully established the truth.

He was simply glad he had checked whether the man actually wanted help.

Brother or Lover went to Cornwall

The day’s relationship game featured Rory, a carpenter from Cornwall, and Charlotte.

Rory had even sold his mountain bike to help fund an invention idea.

Charlotte was on maternity leave.

The baby detail immediately created suspicion.

Were Rory and Charlotte the parents?

Or were they siblings and the baby belonged elsewhere in the family?

The team began digging.

The clues pointed in both directions

Rory had met some of Charlotte’s exes and did not sound particularly enthusiastic about them.

That could be a jealous partner.

It could equally be an unimpressed brother.

Rory had built things for Charlotte’s family during a house renovation.

He could not remember doing anything particularly romantic on the previous Valentine’s Day.

Charlotte had never removed a splinter from Rory’s body.

Asked whether he ever came home asking for help with his wood, her disgust was immediate.

That answer convinced several people they were siblings.

The final team vote:

three for brother.

two for lovers.

Rory and Charlotte were lovers

Charlotte gave the reveal.

Rory was her lover.

They were a couple.

Their baby, Marlo, had already been born.

Scott celebrated getting the answer right while joking that Rory had literally “whittled a little baby”.

The game had once again demonstrated how even genuine couple behaviour can sound sibling-like once five radio presenters start analysing it.

Celebrity real names finished the quiz

Don’t Look It Up used celebrity birth names and old number-one songs.

The programme had begun with a stranger literally wearing his shame on a board.

It ended asking what famous people were called before anybody knew who they were.
