The Radio One DJ gives us the lowdown on CBB...

He's one of the fixtures over at Radio One and finally we got to put a face to the voice of DJ Scott Mills. He joined us for a quick chat before he ran off to the camera run -- cape in hand -- for BBLB.

What have you enjoyed most about this year's CBB?

The fact that I can see Face from the A-Team every day is amazing. When they went in there, I really didn't like anybody but I am kind of getting to really like Jermaine and I really like Shilpa now and I didn't like her at all.

Is Jermaine not a bit too lovely?

Yes, but I like his lovingness though, I think he kind of means it. He is quite a decent guy and Shilpa seems to have dropped her diva-ness and seems to be quite a dignified person and quite polite. She seems to have left all that stuff that she had at the door which is quite nice.

Do you think the situation with Jade helped Shilpa lose her diva-ness?

I don't know, but what is interesting this series is the people in the House that I thought were really nice aren't, and the people that I thought were a bit diva-ish and a bit celeb have come good!

Can you imagine playing any of their singles on your radio show?

Can I imagine playing a Jo O'Meara record? Not really. I don't think a spell in Big Brother would really change things.

What about Jermaine?

Well I hear the chart rules have changed where anything that you download is eligible for the chart and I think that 'I Want You Back' is in the chart this week because of the song they did on BB this week. That just shows you how influential it can be.

Who is not what you thought?

I thought Jo would come out of this show well and obviously things have happened where she has not come out of it that well. But I would have put money on her to win at one point, and Jade, and it just shows you.

What advice would you give the remaining housemates?

Cleo -- Just be you, I don't think we are seeing the real her sometimes. I think she can be a bit 'darling, lovey!' I would just like her to be a bit more honest. Everything is just perfect in her world and I don't believe her.

Danielle -- Stop being a bitch.

Dirk -- Keep being cool. I think he is quite cool. For a guy who is 61 he is cool. And is he still trying it on with Shilpa? Pretty gross but I like it.

Ian -- Just calm down a little bit maybe.

Jermaine -- Stop quoting your brother's songs all the time.

Jo -- Put some more make up on.

Shilpa -- Ummm... Don't know what to say about Shilpa. I just think I'm quite mesmerised by how beautiful she is. Most people without make-up first thing in the morning look rubbish. I don't know how she does it but she just looks fabulous all the time. I am quite jealous.

Jack -- Say something! I think he is lost now without Jade.

Who do you hope leaves next?

Danielle. I just want to see what happens when she comes out.

Do you think BB should put in new housemates?

It could be fun in a way to have a new theme and to lighten things up a bit, so yeah, I'm quite up for that, it would be nice.

Who would you like to see go in?

Mr T. He would sort them all out. He would bang their heads together. Fool! And he could be friends with Face and every time someone said something bad he could be there to sort them out.

Who do you hope wins?

I'd like Shilpa to win, or Dirk. I quite like Dirk, I think he is funny and he is not expecting to win either, so it would be a big surprise for him.

(sorry if this has been posted)

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
