I know it's a different kettle of fishh because Roman isn't moving to a rival station, but the contrast between Roman announcing he is leaving and the outpouring of love, and the BBC cancelling Jordan I find really jarring.

Ooh that's interesting that they left the pic up for Monday... I hope he gets a final show. Even if he is moving to a rival show, it really would seem like more has gone on if he doesn't get to say goodbye, and Jordan doesn't strike me as the type to burn his bridges

Jamie has posted a few bits to his Insta stories, even addressing some of the negative comments - the silence from all of the other presenters makes me think they have been told to say nothing

I'm guessing today's at home with vick & jordan podcast will fail to arrive too... I can't wait for next week's sexted podcasts, as presumably they are recording those today while all this has been going on

I am giving this way too much thought now... but the press release doesn't actually say Jordan is leaving. Or when. It just says they will be saying goodbye to him. And it just says Jamie will be joining Vick to co-host from the 4th March, not permanently... It's all very fishy to me and not in keeping with their usual style of announcements surely?
The Big Brother comment made me think maybe Jordan is going to be on a temporary project elsewhere or something, maybe a charity challenge even

Katie sounds really flustered to me which is what was making me suspicious, she might just be in shock if she has just found out Jordan is really leaving, but she sounded really shaky telling the story about the love hearts in the corner shop and I didn't really believe it...
Plus it's been over an hour and I haven't seen any tributes from colleagues or Vick hasn't posted anything about being excited to work with Jamie - I wonder if there will be any clues in the Going Home podcast when it drops later?

Part of me really wants this to be a prank. Nobody thought they would take the radio off air when they did the DJ hunt,but they did - so maybe the bosses are willing to take a risk to make a spectacle.
I may be clutching at straws, but Katie's current "web of lies" topic is making me suspicious, that this is all a web of lies that will be unravelled on Monday...
Jamie has posted on his Insta but the caption seems suspect to me, he may well be in on it - surely he has too many other projects going on to commit to a daily show? I really am just being hopeful right now that Jordan wouldn't leave

I don't mind Jamie all that much, but together with Vick I think it will be a giggle-fest and I'm not sure I could listen to that. I liked Jamie with Matt though.
If Aled says Jamie was popular with the younger listeners then that explains a lot I suppose.

Yeah I suppose it does look too official to be a prank... and they wouldn't announce a replacement if it were all false I guess. It just seems hard to believe. And hard to understand why it wouldn't be Katie instead of Jamie - unless she turned it down

I think given how brief the statement is on R21 social, it's either got to be a prank for Mega Massive Monday as someone else mentioned, or that he is moving to another station. Very sad if he really is leaving... although I agree that he would be great with Chris and Sian on Capital!

I was surprised at how tall Callum was, too. I would Imagine Greg is the tallest though.
I think it’s Melvin who’s known to be short, I’m sure it was talked about when Greg wrapped him in bubble wrap a few weeks ago. Not sure he’d be the shortest though, am I imagining it or is Arielle quite small?

I have really enjoyed Sam and Danni on the chart the last two weeks. I don't know whether it's intentional, but their style seems to freshen up the 'serious tension' that solo presenters usually bring to it, it's been much lighter and a bit of a giggle.
I share the sentiments above about their weekend shows - I really like them as a pair and would love them to have more features or just more structure. Although, having said that, because they come across as just two mates having a natter a lot of the time, it makes for really comfortable passive listening for me. It doesn't demand too much attention, but is still entertaining in a way, so maybe that's what they are going for.
If they had a weekday show I could really see them pulling off something like what Scott and Chris had, with the right production - I know people have said the same about Matt and Mollie, and to be honest I never really rated Matt and Mollie until some of the posts on here made me give them a second try, and now I really enjoy their shows. I hope Sam and Danni don't get stuck on weekends the way Matt and Mollie seem to have been.

I was on with Greg once, after he had been on Saturday Kitchen. I text in about it and they called me back to be on air with him - to be fair I was just a bit of a buffer to the clips they would have played out anyway, but Greg and the team were proper lovely.
I was almost on with Scott and Chris on 5Live once, it would have been a pre-recorded bit but I chickened out before the call - I don't think my story would have been entertaining enough for radio but I have always kicked myself that I gave up the chance to speak to Scott on the phone!!
Edited to add that I'm sure you aren't boring - a lot of it is probably timing vs how much engagement they have in what they want to feature, I'm pretty sure that's why I was on

I have to admit, I love the chatbox. It's good to see what the day-to-day hot topics are... but, seemingly not all forum posts are notified of in the chatbox, I'm not sure whether that is intentional or not, but I really find it useful that there are notifications when someone posts to the forum in the chat box - it makes it easier when I am on my phone to see what people are posting about, and to keep up to date with all the latest things!

This does make me giggle. But it makes me think of real life rather than made up things, albeit trivial, like every time they play Tiesto, let's get down to business, I think about Scott at the lolathon saying he's had enough of it... or saying on unpopular opinion that driver's license is not as good as everyone thought it was.. although that's not really a rumour because he shared those views on air...

Not to side-track from Annie, who achieved incredible things in her lifetime at Radio 1, and will be hugely missed and remembered for her amazing work and enthusiasm for life -
But, I had the joy of seeing David Rodigan live at a local gig in 2022 (much more my taste in music), and I couldn't believe the energy and passion he brought for an 'older' guy... it was such a wonderful experience. I can only imagine that Annie brought the same euphoria to fans of her style of music.
(I was hoping Greg or someone else on R1 would get Ram Jam involved in the "we need jungle" sideline of the last week)
It is lovely to see the tributes pouring in for Annie though, clearly a much-loved pioneering broadcaster who was, and stayed well respected on a so-called 'youth station', who held an important place on air as well as in everyones' hearts.

Greg is my only must-listen show at the moment. Vick and Jordan always seem to be having a good laugh when I do tune in, but timing-wise I don't usually at that time of day. I do listen to their podcast, and if the show was given a daily podcast I would definitely be listening to that.
Same with Matt & Mollie and Sam & Dani really, I enjoy their shows when I do get to listen, they bounce off eachother well and have good features, but I wouldn't make it a priority to listen back.
Sadly the magic of 1pm when Scott and Chris used to be on is no more... they made such good things happen in that slot and it's a shame nothing has seemed to have grown from Dean and Vicky's show. That said, I have been meaning to listen back to their panto from this week to see if it's any good...

I haven’t had chance to listen yet, but noticed it’s only 30 mins long, surely there’s more worthy content in a week’s worth of shows than just half an hour?
