Alice should’ve made it onto a weekday daytime slot really

I’ll be honest, don’t rate Arielle - but I’m never awake for weekend early breakfast, so didn’t bother me. But I think she’ll clearly be the weekend cover for Dev/Jordan now. It’s a shame about the inconsistency, would be nice to at least have weekdays vs weekends in line. I wonder if Anthems will see Matt & Mollie do the first set and then Jordan from 10:30 (just to mirror the week day show times?) Very happy Jordan has 3 shows a week, overdue!

What do you mean? Anthems 10-11 isn’t pre recorded? As they regularly give out mentions.

They have still been appearing on each other’s weeks to play features like Beat Fighter. i wondered if it was more a technical arrangement that meant they weren’t together. The first week of the new schedule they were (Alice in the Studio, Dev at Home) but when their show came round again with Dev in the Studio... Alice wasn’t on because “She has rubbish WiFi” ??

Not true. It’s her style & has not really changed in the last few years. I am really going to miss Dev & Alice together. It is definitely the best weekend show right now by a mile. Once they found their stride, they gelled well together & it’s my type of humour.

I’m missing the 6:30 till 7am bit of Greg’s show. Usually a space for a bit of random silliness and just a little “club” for those listening. It’s going to be a shame this week when we effectively lose the 10-11 hour to Anthems. I agree it’s hit & miss on the 11-3 slot. Scott’s weeks are great, I like the golden moments & the quiz is great fun everyday too. But then Clara’s weeks leave a lot to be desired as they’re just bland shows. You could argue it suits the slot better though (work day etc) but I don’t want to talk Scott out of his show!! Weekends. The rotation is fine, but yes, like you’ve said I do miss Dev & Alice being on together. How haven’t they made it work? Matt & Mollie seem to alternate who is at home/in the studio, so do Ricky, Melvin & Charlie. Jordan’s shows have been great too, he’s got some really fun features. Ironically more regular features from his 1 show a week than Matt & Mollie seem to have running at the moment. I do wonder if reverting back for the ‘normal’ schedule could be an easy way to make a few changes. Possibly to weekends yeah.

They’re not! I think it’s changed to better pool resources over the outbreak.

I agree, as I’m a few months behind it means I can listen at my leisure. I do wonder what the stats are for older (18 months ish) podcasts. Because surely there’s no widespread appeal apart from amongst geeks like us!

Like has previously been pointed out, people with kids won’t work Christmas Day. As he’s now regular breakfast host, Greg is also ruled out. I suppose the obvious idea would be Jordan North on Breakfast and Arielle Free on Afternoons once Scott has done his last Christmas morning.

Is this show live? As I am pretty sure Claudia usually pre-records it. Which actually puts you in the strange situation where Claudia doesn’t do her pre-recorded Radio 2 show for 3 months a year because she’s on BBC One pre-recorded for Strictly results on a Sunday evening.

So because of Strictly, Dev only seems to be doing Sundays for now? He was off last Fri/Sat too.

I wonder if the changes to the start time of ‘Weekend Breakfast’ will mean we’ll see a shake up to features and content in the show? For example, they open the lines for “Pop Luck” about 6:50 and play it about 7:15. I think the show is sounding quite stale already, so could probably do with it?

There’s no way Scott is going back to drivetime. I think Scott’s been given a new contract after turning down Heart Breakfast. Meaning he’ll be on afternoons for a good few years yet. I think Greg is on Breakfast for the long haul too - probably 6-8 years

I think the schedule could do with a bit of a shake up, personally i'd rather see something like Weekdays: 4am - Arielle Free 6:30am - Greg James 10am - Adele Roberts 1pm - Scott Mills 4pm - Dev & Alice Weekends: 6am - Matt & Molle 10am - Jordan North 1pm - Grimmy [not sure...] Possibly swapping Scott with R, M & C after a few more years? I don't think we need Clara or Maya. I'd quite like to see Jordan on a daytime slot, but I am not quite sure where to put him. Unless he gets drive with Dev & Alice taking over from Scott - I really enjoy the style of their show at the weekends right now. But I kinda feel it'd be miss-understood by a casual listener who might not understand their 'banter'. I'd probably also ditch this 3-day-weekend thing. Have Greg & 10-1 on 5 mornings a week, with maybe the same afternoon show on Fri-Sun and Scott still on the Friday chart.
