I'm not so sure, as he only appears to be regional cover for Global and they tend to not bother with the regional shows for that bit between Christmas & New Year.

Here we go again.... another RAJAR day so more BBC Sounds Data. Full PDF is here. Scott Mills Daily continues to be the 4th biggest 'OD Programme - U35 Skew'... but it is also the BIGGEST 'Under 35 Skew Podcast': 1 = Scott Mills Daily 2 = At Home With Vick & Jordan 3 = 6 Degrees from Jamie & Spencer 4 = All Day Breakfast with Greg James I think Greg James falls below Vick & Jordan for podcasts because he has the 2nd biggest show on listen backs, just behind Radio 1 00s. 1 = Radio 1 00s 2 = Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James 3 = Radio 1 DJ Hunt 4 = Radio 1's Scott Mills Daily 5 = Radio 1's At Home With Vick & Jordan 8 = Going Home with Vick & Jordan

Glad they’re still going to be covering Early Breakfast!

Yeah agree with this. I loved RMC’s evening show, not for the music but the content. There was some real good stuff in there. Hopefully it doesn’t happen for many years, but post-Greg, I’d be tempted to move RMC to Afternoons to allow Vick to go solo on the Live Lounge with Jordan & Katie teaming up at Breakfast. or even put RMC on at Drive, but I do think it’s probably right that they use Drive as the place to sure up the next Breakfast show. So I’d like to see Sam & Danni move there after their weekend stint.

Agree and I really would have preferred that. But she may end up in a better position if she ends up on Breakfast with Jordan in the next 5 years. I don't really listen to Dean & Vicky on the regular, but I'm never really impressed whenever I catch them. The only time I've seen their strength in recent times is when they did Early Breakfast during the DJ Hunt week. It was by far a stronger EB than Nat O'Leary who was barely speaking... it didn't involve any of their crabby features & the chat was all focused on helping find clues for the hunt to hand to Greg at half 7. I guess this probably proves they are OK at content presenters, but nowhere near the top... but not quite at the bottom either!

I think there is clearly a lot of pressure on the BBC radio bosses to ensure more shows are coming from outside of London....probably more pressure than has been publicly said over the issue. Just look at the likes of Radio 2 moving Early Breakfast when Vanessa left, and 6 Music announcing their Drive Time show changes for 2024. I think this probably played a HUGE part in Dean & Vicky ending up with this show.

Sam and Danni new presenters of weekend breakfast
Ash101 replied to Lily Georgia's topic in BBC Radio 1
Yeah looking forward to hearing Sam and Danni establish their own show. Feels like the most deserved permanent appointment since Jordan North -
Presumably the Scott & Chris announcement is a DJing thing

More BBC Sounds data released today for Q2 2023 - you can see the full thing here. Amazingly the 'Scott Mills Daily' R1 Podcast is still within the 'Top Ten Podcast - Under 35 Skew', rising 1 place on last quarter as it's now in third place. Vick and Jordan's Podcast is in second place & Greg is in 5th. For actual Radio show catchups, Radio 1 00s is in second place, Greg is third and Vick & Jordan are fourth. Generic 'Radio 1 Breakfast' (when people cover), Future Artists, Party Anthems & Future Sounds make up the Top 10

Arielle Free turns up to Dance Anthems drunk

But I guess what’s Charlie got to apologies for? Hating a song isn’t the same as a swear.. -

It’s about 1740 on Saturday if anyone wants to hear it on Sounds… it’s pretty awful, maybe a producer should’ve stopped her even getting on air to be honest -

I think she’ll have to start the show with an apology if she’s on tonight Edit: Sian Eleri’s in tonight -

Don’t think it’s more the fact she got on air while intoxicated rather than the music comment? -
So for the 8 weeks of Early Breakfast they’re doing, they’re off 1 week for holiday and another because of the DJ Hunt! So 6 in total?

When asking someone if they don’t do Fridays?

Radio 1 Breakfast Show to start at 7.30am over summer
Ash101 replied to michaelb's topic in BBC Radio 1
Why would they need it though? They aren’t on full time right now. They’re doing 8 weeks of Early Breakfast, have those 5 weekdays off and then they start on weekends. -
Hey - I’m away with work at the moment but will get this sorted once I’m back!

According to the papers he’s doing the next series of Celebrity Hunted. So he’s currently on the run.

Another RAJAR day means more BBC Sounds data - this time covering 02/01/2023 till 02/04/2023 - full data here. Scott Mills Daily R1 Podcast is still in the 'Top Ten Podcasts - Under 35 Skew' chart, in at fourth place - amazing considering this'll be reaching 6 months with no new episodes, but enough U35's are still choosing to listen back. Vick and Jordan's podcast & All Day Breakfast with Greg taking places 2 and 3 in that chart. On actual radio programmes, R1 00's is in top followed by Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James.

Bizarre how the wheels have fallen off Going Home always being a duo in recent months? The show was basically always covered by someone to keep a duo for the first 18 months, but since about Easter there’s been plenty of solo days now?
-
I’m pretty sure all the shows on the Absolute decade stations are voice tracked.. Apart from Breakfast/Drive which are simulcast of course.
-
First time in a while that the Friday presenter has covered Arielle mid week? It’s been Sam & Danni more and more recently?
-
What hours are missing? I have a full archive of this one!
-
That’s not real? Not sure what the point of the photoshop is… someone we’ve never heard of?

Always fascinating to take a look at the charts included with the BBC Sounds data. Released at midnight was the Q4 2022 data which you can see here. Radio 1's Murder Mystery seems to have done good business at attracting Under 35's with that and the 'Afterlife' podcast taking places in the top 4. Greg James is the most listened to Radio 1 show on demand via BBC Sounds, with Vick and Jordan also in the top 10. BUT... the one that really caught my attention is the Scott Mills Daily Podcast still being in 4th place on the 'Top Podcasts % U35 Skew' - which is significant as this period is October to December, meaning there were zero new episodes but clearly lots of people still catching up....
