It is a real shame that James is leaving, I get that they needed to find Emil a show and I’m very pleased for him, but I’m sure there was room for both of them. Stick James on the chart which I think he’s excellent at, and Emil can still have weekend breakfast. Then you have James available as an extra person as cover too!

Yes I assume Sam and Danni will now be lead breakfast cover and Emil will be lead Going Home cover!

Weird that they’re getting rid of Swarzy too just as her and Ore are being established as a duo covering shows? Maybe here’s was her own doing too. I’ve seen she’s doing things on R4 as well as her 1xtra show

I don’t think any of the departures are their own doing - surprised about James and Nat in particular though (Nat especially I thought was the stronger of the pair and had a good chance of getting to weekdays in the future). It does mean that the average age of radio 1 presenters is even older now. We’re losing Rickie and Melvin, but Nat, Dean and Swarzy are some of the youngest!

I don’t think there is actually? They’re losing a presenter on mid mornings but gaining an extra on Early Breakfast!

It would be helpful if they could release the Press Release at the same time! I can imagine Charlie and Jerry being chaos together though! No changes for Going Home!!

She mentioned that she has a 2 week holiday coming up but I’m not sure she’s specifically mentioned when? I haven’t heard every minute of going home however so I may have missed it

I think it depends how long Mollie is off for (and therefore how long Jerry is with Matt). If Jerry isn’t available, I would expect it to be Jamie and Emil on Mondays and Tuesday and then Sam and Danni on Wednesdays and Thursdays!

There’s no guarantee that’s the case yet - I wouldn’t be surprised if the schedules are updated closer to the time

Matt and Mollie in for Greg on the 6th July (which is why Nat and Vicky are in for them). Vick is off so it’s only Katie and Jamie on Going Home.

That’s a big commitment for Melvin, a show until midnight and then in again at 10am for the foreseeable future. I can’t imagine that will continue if this needs to happen LONG term. Obviously I wish Trevor well as well, he’s a great broadcaster

Although it does give other presenters exposure. Jerry and Emil are both far more prominent on the station now from covering that show, and Sam and Danni last summer covered it. So in a way Jamie and Vick being part time is helping up and coming presenters

And Sam and Danni are on breakfast - would guess they probably will be for the rest of the week too!

Are they filming another series of his tv show? Last year he took the summer off so I wonder if he’s doing the same again?

Charley is in for Nat on the 3rd July too! Definitely peak holiday season!

Sam and Danni are presenting breakfast on the 3rd July. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all that week. Ore and Swarzy are in for them on the 3rd and 5th. Sam is presenting with Swarzy on the 4th. Joel Mitchell is in for Dean McCullough all of the following week (which makes me think he might be in for Greg that week and it hasn’t updated yet)

I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic or not? But if you’re meaning his scheduled Monday and Tuesday appearances then no, he was off just this week! If we’re just counting Vick being on Mondays for now, I’m not sure she’s had a week off since returning from maternity leave

Given that they’re using Richie as an interim on a show, I’m guessing he won’t be the new drive presenter! Still pretty convinced it will be OJ, as they seem to be using everyone but him!

It seems weird that they’re live from TRNSMT on Friday before anything has happened - but then not on Saturday or Sunday? I wonder why they’re doing that. Arielle and Vicky are also an unusual duo, very different personalities to each other!

Nice to see that! Not sure Sam and Lauren have presented together but I’m sure they’ll be a good duo (and they have a back up option in case Lauren suddenly is unavailable!)

I’m not sure he generally is? Pretty sure it was only last week and this week, and this week he seems to be doing Thursday too! I don’t think we can definitely say he’s back doing Wednesdays yet!
