  1. Performing on TV would be stressful enough. I'm impressed she managed to do it. Saturday's final is the only episode of BGT I've ever watched (I was at a friend's house). Hope she gets better soon really, stress is horrible.
  2. Not really. I think to be honest if I'm gonna get it then it'll be too late already. Apparently the incubation period can be up to 3 days. I shouldn't be this scared about it though. I think I have quite serious hypochondria. It's just such a bad time for it. Considering taking a diazepam to see if it calms me down so I get some sleep. I think it's because there's nothing I can do if I do get it except sit it out and I don't like that. It comes on very suddenly.
  3. Another of my housemates was up all night last night throwing up. I'm really worried I'm gonna get this now. Seems to be Norovirus because of the speed it comes on. I've got an exam at 4:30pm tomorrow. Would be absolutely typical if I got ill in the next 24 hours, really don't know what I'd do. I'm also terrified of throwing up. I've been bleaching things and washing my hands obsessively so am hoping I won't catch it. I feel ill anyway because I've been too stressed to sleep. I've hardly eaten anything in the past 4 days and feel weak and feverish but still unable to sleep and can't concentrate on revision :( and I keep thinking if I mess up these last 2 exams I might not get a 2:1. I feel like a complete mess. I just have to sit here and hope and hope that I don't get this Norovirus.
  4. Haha awesome. I'm surprised they didn't just ask him if they could visit and check. I imagine the ducks in the bathroom are the rubber/plastic kind that float in the bath.
  5. I think that's the joke.... that his actual skin is more orange than the Tango tan.
  6. I had a mention off Scott a few years ago now from a post I made in Your Views on here. I've heard various people off here mentioned as well as some dubious instances where they've just coincidentally come out with the same thing on the radio as has just been posted on here.
  7. Well I guess after Catherine Tate they realised they needed someone young and pretty. Will be interested to see how they carry it off.
  8. Because there's lots of money in it...? I'm currently trying to work out what the hell "engendering mimetic forms of rationality" could possibly mean. It's not good when you have to look up more than half the words in a dictionary or on Wikipedia. Why academics can't just write in plain English I don't know. UMS are strange, I didn't realise people could be pulled down by them that much as well. Here they use all kinds of bizarre algorithms to decide whether people should go up a degree class or not if they're near a boundary. That's why I need to do well in these exams to get properly into 2:1 territory. One of my friends has the same exam as me on Monday but hasn't bothered doing any revision because he got a 1st in his dissertation.
  9. I did quite a lot of resits. My school was quite into them. It didn't show up on my UCAS application but I don't know if they do now cos me applying for uni was now quite a long time ago. I found resits helpful because I understood more economics in the 2nd year of the course than the first year. And it definitely helps with language translation papers, can get a much better mark a year later. They're talking about GCSEs on 5live and it makes me feel well old, as I did mine 5 years ago. Got 2 exams left. Think the one on Monday should go ok but the one on Thursday is a bit of a write-off. I just need to make sure I get plenty of sleep which I seem to have been failing to do lately.
  10. Grace, one word: resits! I had a similar situation in my AS exams, they all seemed to be around the same time. Well, everyone's finished, they're going out to get hammered (including a couple of my friends who each have 1 exam left but don't care) and I am living it up in the library. Shit times. This time next week I'll be freeeeeee. It's going to be a very long week.
  11. Tent arrived for Glastonbury this morning so we can practice setting it up in the garden at the weekend I had to persuade the boys that a 6 person tent with 3 bedrooms wasn't the most sensible option given there's 3 of us taking it to Glastonbury and only 2 of us taking it to Reading. Oh, and they also thought it would be a great idea to spend £3000 hiring a tent big enough to seat 72 people.... Looking forward to it very much. The line up looks awesome, sooo much better than last year. Brand New are playing and they announced some good bands for Reading too.
  12. Thanks Alan. I've got 3 more exams to do, one is at 1:30pm today, one next Monday, then one next Thursday. It really sucks that I have exams from 9am on the first day of exam season to the penultimate day of exam season. Oh and all my housemates finish today. My housemate is like a 6 year old on Christmas morning today, he's really annoying me. They're all going out tonight and tomorrow night and Saturday and probably every other night in the next week but I've got to stay in and revise WAAAHHHHH. Oh and since I messed up the dissertation, the exams are really important and I can't afford to slack off and it's gonna be all sunny too.
  13. I agree with DC on this one.... this boy doesn't really sound mature enough to be having a proper relationship. He doesn't seem worth your time. It's sad if you and your best mate are falling out over a boy like him. Be assertive and don't let him get away with whatever he feels like doing. What sucks in my life is I'm still ill and have an exam in 12 hours' time. Then everyone else finishes and they're all going out and I have 2 more exams next week so I'll be in the library instead.
  14. Happy birthday Serin, hope the weather is good for your camping trip!
  15. If I knew I'd be able to pay my phone bills no matter how big they were, I don't think I'd look at them either... This is a bit like the shock revelation that the Pope is Catholic. Although I notice that every time they interview a celebrity in Cosmopolitan, they comment a lot on how "down to earth" that particular celebrity is, compared to all the other out of touch divas.
  16. I'm feeling ill also. My housemate just came in to tell me he's got a cold. How nice of him to sneeze all over me. I've got a sore stomach and was up till 2am because the reflux was so bad I couldn't lie down, despite being exhausted and wanting to sleep. Now I don't feel well enough to eat anything. Also my gum is swollen around my wisdom tooth again and it really hurts, annoying because it's been fine for the last year. The two boys I live with keep coming into my room and having pointless conversations between themselves. I wish they'd go and do it somewhere else. They go away and then they're back within 5 minutes with "Oh and another thing..."
  17. It's what being a parent does to you What are you going to see? I'm going out tonight, yesterday a couple of friends and I decided we're bored of staying in. Hopefully it'll lift my general mood. Also it's a sunny day which is nice and I had an afternoon nap and feel better than I did this morning. Having to get up at 7am for an exam on a Saturday just isn't fun.
  18. I think stress causes weird dreams. Several of my friends have described having weird dreams to me lately. I've had dreams where I've woken up late. Last night I had a dream where my parents had invited me and a load of my friends round for dinner at 8pm but it was 11pm and my friends just weren't bothered about getting to my parents' house and I was frantically trying to get them to go there because I knew my mum would be angry if we didn't show up. What else sucks... Got an exam at 9am on Saturday. Some people have finished already and most of my friends finish next Thursday, but I've got another week and 2 more exams after that, so everyone will be out celebrating and I won't. Oh and everyone seems to be getting ill. I feel pretty awful, have managed to go 2 days now without paracetamol but my stomach is playing up and the reflux and IBS are getting annoying. I could go to the doctor but I know there's nothing he can do so I'm stuck on a really boring diet and hoping it sorts itself out.
  19. Yep, it's fair enough for him, unfortunate though that Chris doesn't seem to see a problem with discussing at length and taking the piss out of his team's relationships. As far as the going back to exes debate goes, I wouldn't do it, because a break-up tends to be for a reason, but having said that, these are the kind of principles that can easily get thrown out of the window in an actual situation when feelings are involved. Also, John, I hope things work out for you and Vicky, because there's clearly more at stake there. As for everyone needing to be in a relationship, I agree to an extent, it does seem like a lot of people my age are in serious relationships, but I am personally alright being single.
  20. That's pretty expensive. You'd think they'd be prepared to pay for it. What sucks is I feel ill and I'm still on a downward spiral. I feel like I'm annoying my friends and pushing them away because of how I feel about myself. I just feel worse and worse about myself and can't seem to turn things round.
  21. It's a Sunday night thing I think Jono. I had Radio 4 on to help me sleep instead. It's nice to hear Scott in the morning when I'm up for my exam, helps me to not panic.
  22. Awww It's so easy to get poorly just before the exams. I hope it goes away soon. Take 2 paracetamol just before your exam, it'll make you feel better for long enough to do the exam, and try to get plenty of sleep too. I've got a headache at the moment and feel so tired but reckon I won't be able to sleep tonight which is annoying because I've got a 9am exam.
  23. Happy birthday! Hope you have a great one. At least it's a Sunday so there's no work!
  24. Thing is though, this is a Scott Mills forum, there are other forums specifically for technology-related problems where there are likely to be more people who can help. Google is usually a good place to start with a computer problem as it's likely someone else will have had it too.
  25. Congratulations! Got a scanner? Scan your signature and insert the image? Or attempt to sign in Paint? Or just type your name there. I'm not sure.
