5 April 2022: Cal the Dragon’s TikTok drama became Scott and Chris’s new soap opera

Scott needed the Cal the Dragon story explained properly

A corner of TikTok had become unavoidable for Chris.

Every time he opened the app, more clips appeared involving football creator Cal the Dragon and an expanding cast of other personalities.

Scott had not followed the story from the beginning, so the show brought in listener Tom to explain it as though he were recapping a television drama.

Cal was described as a football TikToker whose confidence and claims about his ability attracted both fans and criticism.

The story then widened through appearances and arguments involving people including Astrid Wett and Simple Simon.

By the time Tom finished the first explanation, Scott understood why Chris had started treating the whole thing like a soap opera.

Brother or Lover met Paul and Mike

The week’s Brother or Lover contestants were Paul and Mike.

One was a solicitor and the other a sports journalist, leading Scott to immediately describe the possible couple as “power gays”.

The team tried to work out the relationship from questions about restaurants, text messages, dishwashers, driving and whether one of them had ever popped a spot on the other’s back.

That final detail pushed almost everybody towards one conclusion.

The team locked in lovers.

They were right.

Paul and Mike had been together for around six and a half years, and even the listeners felt the clues had made this one unusually obvious.

Untitled Goose Game was completely real

The quiz also played Real or No Real Video Game.

One proposed title was Untitled Goose Game, described as a game where the player controls a goose let loose on an unsuspecting village.

Scott thought it sounded suspiciously like the sort of title the production team would invent.

It was real.

Producer Amy had even played it and explained that the entire point was essentially to be an annoying goose causing trouble.

For an afternoon already dominated by TikTok feuds and romantic spot-popping, that somehow fitted perfectly.
