The TikTok story had become ‘collabodrama’
A day after the show tried to explain Cal the Dragon, the story had already moved on.
Scott and Chris had become fascinated by the way a collection of TikTok creators appeared to be producing a constantly updating real-life drama in public.
The cast now included Astrid Wett, Ed Matthews, Simple Simon and others, with rivalries, live streams and boxing talk all feeding into one another.
Scott compared following it with watching a soap, except the characters were real people and the next episode could arrive on his phone at any moment.
The algorithm kept making the obsession worse
The pair also recognised why the story had become so difficult to escape.
Once they watched a few clips, TikTok learned they were interested and served them more.
That created a loop where every fresh argument or live stream made the next one more likely to appear.
Two more names, Aaron Hunt and Chef Dave, entered the story while the programme was discussing it.
Aaron was even messaging during the show.
Chris described how people were accusing one another of chasing clout, while Scott joked that he and Chris perhaps needed to manufacture their own feud if this was how modern internet storylines worked.
Hook-up Higher or Lower returned
Away from TikTok, Hook-up Higher or Lower asked the team to guess how far somebody had travelled for a romantic encounter.
The feature once again turned ordinary geography into a game of increasingly questionable decisions.
The day’s quiz also tested nursery-rhyme knowledge, giving the programme a particularly sharp contrast: internet boxing drama one minute, half-remembered childhood lyrics the next.
