The mystery trousers were far too small
Scott had packed what he assumed were his black jeans to change into after going to the gym.
They were not his black jeans.
The trousers were so small that he struggled to pull them over his legs and eventually fell over while trying to force himself into them. Scott estimated they might have had a 28-inch waist and could not understand why such a tiny pair had ended up among his clothes.
Getting them off was almost as difficult as putting them on. Scott exaggerated that the situation had come close to requiring the fire brigade before conceding that he would probably just have needed somebody to cut him free.
The bigger mystery remained unsolved: who had visited Scott’s home, left a pair of tiny black jeans behind and never asked for them back?
Zayn’s Instagram follow was still a major achievement
The programme returned to the previous week’s Zayn interview, when Scott had persuaded him to add one more account to the very small number he followed on Instagram.
Chris pointed out that Zayn had almost 24 million followers while following only a few dozen accounts, many of them major stars or Zayn fan pages. Scott was therefore delighted to find himself among the select group.
The only concern was whether Zayn would quietly unfollow him after discovering that Scott’s ordinary everyday posts were less interesting than Drake’s.
Jennifer Lawrence was back at Radio 1
Scott and Chris also looked forward to Jennifer Lawrence appearing with Greg James later in the day. They remembered how enthusiastically she had thrown herself into Playground Insults with Chris Pratt and expected her willingness to say exactly what she thought to make another entertaining interview.
