Scott had a Wheel problem
Scott was due to record an appearance on BBC One’s The Wheel.
He was excited about finally going on the programme.
Then he watched an episode and noticed something worrying.
Everybody had to do the little hand dance when the theme music played.
Dancing had never been Scott’s strongest area, and suddenly the game show itself mattered less than what he was supposed to do with his hands on camera.
Listeners suggested clapping, jazz hands, shoulder movements and a variety of simple routines.
Scott rejected most of them as requiring far too much coordination.
Where is the worst place to end a relationship?
The main listener discussion began with Alex, who had deliberately chosen a railway station to break up with his girlfriend because he assumed they could immediately take trains in opposite directions.
The plan failed spectacularly.
Their trains were on opposite platforms and one was delayed, leaving them staring across the tracks at one another after the breakup.
Another listener had been broken up with on New Year’s Eve while driving.
The argument became so bad that she ordered her boyfriend out at a motorway service station and drove away.
Other examples included somebody being dumped in a Wetherspoons, another relationship ending halfway up a ski-lift chair and Kaylee, who broke up with her boyfriend at her sister’s wedding.
Kaylee then had to drive him back to Glasgow the next day.
The journey took around ten hours.
It was difficult to imagine a worse sequel to an already awkward breakup.
Remi Burgz challenged Scott on Bangers
With Chris away, Remi Burgz joined Scott for Bangers.
The listener had to choose between their tracks, turning the music feature into a direct contest between Radio 1 and 1Xtra personalities.
The quiz later included Matt Edmondson or Philosopher, asking whether lines of apparent wisdom came from famous thinkers or from Matt.
The distinction was not always as obvious as it sounded.
