19 April 2022: Dove Cameron reviewed her own Lil Nas X Live Lounge cover

Easter had left listeners broken

The first show back after the bank holiday asked for people who had completely overdone the long weekend.

Scott wanted the listeners who had lost their voices, exhausted themselves or returned to work feeling like shadows of the people who had left on Thursday.

It was a gentle way back into normal life after four days of parties, travel and Easter plans.

Lewis and Ellie fooled nearly everybody

Brother or Lover introduced Lewis, an NHS accountant from Newcastle, and Ellie, who worked in a veterinary practice in Northumberland.

Their clues immediately sounded romantic.

They had travelled together to Mexico and were preparing for another long-haul trip to Thailand.

Most of the team became convinced they were a couple.

Only one person backed brother.

Again, the minority was right.

Lewis and Ellie were siblings.

Scott admitted that once the answer was known, every clue suddenly sounded perfectly reasonable, but the holidays had sent almost everybody in the wrong direction.

Dove Cameron reviewed Dove Cameron

Then Dove Cameron joined Scott after recording her first Radio 1 Live Lounge.

She admitted she became anxious before performing but felt completely at home once she actually started singing.

Dove had covered Lil Nas X’s “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”.

She said she had met Lil Nas X and joked about the entertainment-industry scale where meeting somebody once makes you friends and twice makes you cousins.

More seriously, she praised him as an icon and recalled being stunned when he had previously messaged to compliment her music.

Scott then made Dove listen back to her own Live Lounge and review it in real time.

She complimented some choices, mocked others and repeatedly reacted with the uncomfortable amusement of somebody hearing a freshly recorded performance while sitting beside a radio presenter.

The segment turned a conventional artist interview into something much more revealing: Dove Cameron becoming her own critic.
