Ali’s movie marathon continued
Ali Plumb was still moving through a film for every letter of the alphabet.
By this point he had reached *King Kong*.
Scott and Chris immediately turned the movie into a sequence of imaginary fights.
King Kong against Godzilla.
King Kong against Predator.
King Kong against James Bond.
King Kong against Ross Kemp.
The original challenge had been to watch films.
Radio 1 had inevitably turned it into playground logic about who could beat whom in a fight.
The Snuts received the Your Lyrics, Different Song treatment
Scott and Chris’s Tune of the Week was The Snuts’ Somebody Loves You.
Because the band could not visit Radio 1 in person, they sent the show an internet gift.
The group combined the lyrics and melody world around Olivia Rodrigo’s *drivers license* with their own song.
It was another Your Lyrics, Different Song experiment.
Scott and Chris had previously made artists sing their own words over somebody else’s tune.
The Snuts had effectively completed the challenge remotely by themselves.
The billboard made Tune of the Week feel unusually real
The band had also found a giant billboard in Glasgow promoting them as Radio 1’s Tune of the Week.
Jack from the group admitted seeing a huge photograph of themselves in public was the kind of thing musicians rarely got used to.
After months without touring or audiences, even a billboard had become a tangible sign that something was happening.
Unofficial Scott Mills products existed in very dark corners of the internet
The quiz exposed some astonishing Mills merchandise.
Among the items was a life-size Scott Mills mask.
Scott had not licensed it.
He had not requested it.
Yet somewhere online, somebody apparently believed there was a market for wearing Scott’s face.
The discovery opened the wider question of what unofficial celebrity merchandise exists once somebody starts searching deeply enough.
Scott was both horrified and intrigued.
Blow Your Own Trumpet returned
Tuesday still meant listeners celebrating small lockdown victories.
Scott and Chris provided the fanfare whether the achievement involved work, domestic life or simply finally doing something which had been postponed.
The mood fitted the episode.
A giant billboard could be exciting for a band.
A small personal victory could be just as important to somebody stuck at home.
