The NG Memorial Cup begins
Charles returns on the night of his elaborate FIFA tournament. The players will arrive as managers, hold press conferences and compete after a full buffet, but the programme has concentrated on the promised opening ceremony.
Olympic champion Greg Rutherford introduces John Barrowman, who hands over to Clive Tyldesley for a grand commentary about the fictional stadium and the competition’s history. Charles is genuinely impressed that the programme followed through and prepares to play the recording loudly at six o’clock.
Natalie tries to sell camping
The second Elevator Pitch features fired Apprentice candidate Natalie Hughes. During the lift journey from the BBC’s ground floor to Radio 1, she must persuade Scott to replace cocktails, hotels and sun loungers with a caravan holiday in West Wales.
Natalie offers blankets, cooking, fake tan, cocktails and cuddling beside the fire, but most of her pitch recreates luxury inside the campsite. Scott remains unconvinced and sends her directly back down for another brief lift-based exit interview.
Bangers reaches its decider
The week’s contest is tied before courier Ashley from Ramsbottom chooses between Scott’s David Guetta, Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj collaboration and Chris’s “RariWorkOut” by Lethal Bizzle.
Ashley feels camp rather than rave and gives Scott the victory. It is Scott’s second weekly win in succession, while Chris is left to question whether his previously reliable choices have become too predictable.
