18 November 2008: Amy turned years of her mum’s voicemails into a CD

Amy had archived her mum’s messages

Amy had saved enough of her mother’s distinctive voicemail messages to compile them onto a CD. The recordings included mundane domestic observations delivered with enough personality to become entertainment in their own right.

Listeners recognised the behaviour immediately

The show asked for other examples of parents using voicemail in their own peculiar way. Messages which would normally be deleted became much funnier once collected together, especially when the caller clearly had no idea anyone beyond the intended child might ever hear them.

What’s Occurring? supplied more voices
