24 November 2008: Same Difference tried to run out of compliments

Same Difference faced a test of niceness

The sibling duo had a reputation for being unfailingly positive toward one another. Scott turned that into a challenge: keep giving each other compliments and see how long it took before the supply finally ran dry.

The feature depended on their sincerity

Because Same Difference genuinely appeared to like and support one another, the game became less cynical than it sounded. The joke was in waiting for the first strained or repetitive compliment and discovering how long the positivity could continue.

Girls Aloud went to a tiny public vote

The show also asked people for their favourite Girls Aloud song, with Love Machine winning the small sample. Elsewhere there was chatter about web videos and comedians, but the compliment challenge dominated because it found a simple way to test a public image without turning the guests against each other.
