It’s Tuesday and Scott reckons it’s starting to feel a lot like the end of school here on the Scott Mills Show. We’ll supply the board games, and the review, all you need to do is get reading…
David goes all the way!
4.01pm and the music ended before it had really even started. Laura was on to tell us about the horn that signaled the end of David’s Sport Relief Swim. He had reached the end of the Channel, and with some dodgy link-up, Laura was able to confirm that for us. He started off at 5.30am and ten and a half hours later, it was all over, and within minutes of finishing Laura was getting rather emotional. Remember, text ‘David’ to 82125 to show your support now he has finally reached his goal. Those texting were entered in to a competition for T in the Park tickets. A bit later David was on the phone to Scott, and he was relieved that after all the hype he had done it. Listeners think he deserves a knighthood or should be the England captain. He’s hoping he’ll be a Lord with Scott. During the race David was thinking about music, whilst thinking about what Laura was saying – she had a megaphone shouting supportive messages.
Scott: “Yeah, you’ve been bending… not bending… bonding… with Laura quite a lot”
Laura meanwhile was on Richard and Judy, but the more important question Judy wanted to know about how Laura was, not David. Laura said she’d make sure she passed on Richard and Judy’s congratulations to David. Scott was rather hoping he could speak to the couple, but sadly not today.
Chopper’s holiday ends… work begins… soon
Chappers was back, after a nice “jaunt around Germany”. Scott was on the phone to a budget airline, who he was on the phone for two hours, so he wants to do an On Hold Game. He also spent an hour today trying to put together a fan, and wasn’t getting anywhere fast. The person who usually fans him has gone on holiday. It wasn’t long before Chappers’ quick-witted humour was getting to Scott:
Scott: “I do not like having you back!”
Chappers: “Oh thanks!”
Now Scott was fully prepared to accept that the Chappers & Dave was into it’s second year at universities, but this weekend they played BCM in Magaluff – the biggest club in Europe they say. Scott couldn’t believe that there was a laser show for them, and then 2am till 4am. He wanted to know if Chappers’ fans were anything like Johnny Depp’s fans that burst out crying when they meet him, but it’s only the boys who are a bit like that.
Also Today…
There was the first play of Alisha off of Mis-Teeq’s record – the fitter one – sadly there’s no rap in it, some might argue there’s a lot of c-rap in it though (the drums should kick in any second now). There was more Flirt Divert and discussion of Archie a bit more again. Chappers wasn’t liking him at all, especially with his “ciao” and “rendez-vous” endings branding him a ‘pillock’. Apparently he lives in Hampshire, and hands out made-up business cards.
Scott also managed to upset Zane, when discussing his “new nickname” – The Sausage Smoker. What does that mean? And how long has he been called this? Is it all part of the dumbing down of the Radio 1 schedule? Apparently it was just edited into the trail and he’s only said it once before. Scott soon went quiet about this after Zane paid him a visit. And Lloyd was back on showing us his multi-lingo skills, and with a bit few X-Rated jokes and poems. It went so randomly, and so fast, I haven’t really got much down for the review.
Finally, on the Big Brother front
Last night Nikki got rather excited about Jayne – a new girl – appearing in her day-to-day setting. On Friday, Scott was quite excited about having some new girls – from the Random Act of Kindness – in the work place. Again, merely reporting the facts m’lord. Continue to read my comparisons, and clips of the two on the forum.
A top show today from Scott and Chappers, great to have him back on board, despite it being rather random throughout the three hours!
And Zane Lowe wraps it up for us – “Enough fun and games!”
