Sam and Danni’s three-hour nostalgia binge

Sam and DanniRecap of the show on

Sam and Danni spent their Sunday afternoon travelling through three decades at once, hosting consecutive hours dedicated to the 00s, 10s and 20s. Between the throwbacks they found time for some proper radio silliness, kicking off with a very committed "Radio One noughties drive-thru" sketch where listener Lauren Stampton had to choose between Good Charlotte and Gwen Stefani, going with Danni's pick of Rich Girl.

The pair also gave serious airtime to two singing parrots who've gone viral on TikTok, Mango and Piku, with Sam joking "it does feel wrong, doesn't it?" watching them perform Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie. Danni wasn't having any of it, insisting it didn't feel wrong at all.

The best bit came in the final hour, when Sam ran the quiz 2020 Vision, making Danni guess a mystery 2020s artist using listener-suggested yes/no questions on WhatsApp. After clues about a red dress and a rhyming surname, Danni eventually landed on Lady Gaga with just four minutes of the show left, prompting a triumphant "come on!" from Sam.

Elsewhere the duo plugged Radio 1's ongoing Live Lounge season, playing back Stella Lefdie's cover of Boston and revealing they'd been roped into cleaning the Live Lounge floor ahead of RAYE's visit the next day. First Come First Served also ran in the 10s hour, with a listener in London correctly ordering 2018's pop culture moments to win a play of Swedish House Mafia's Greyhound.
